I have a SPEC 3+ and I love it. Holds upwards of 400HP on my car at 30+psi. It is a little grabby in traffic, but there's no such thing as a "race clutch you can use everyday." If you want it softer, get the 2+. It won't hold as much, but it's a little more streetable. I had it before my 3+, and no complaints either. Make sure you get the + version of whatever SPEC you choose, the straight ones might hold more, but are a much harsher engagement.

Looks like I'll be going with this one:

or you can have this setup: (Kit Code: Z66-XTG6)

* MZ-018X - Xtreme Pressure Plate
* 6224205 6 puck Sprung Racing Clutch
* RB091 - Release Bearing
* PB1005 - Pilot Bearing
* AT05 - Alignment Tool

This combo Holds: (440 lbs Torque) ACT Clutches holds more than what they advertise they do.

I never really cared for Act '_'" well thats because one went one me once when i had my eclipse......

I still suggest talking to Ken and tell him what you plan and see what he says.

Ya I'd steer clear of them myself... I heard their discs fail alot. Like the disc itself will just crumble.

Okay.. hmm. I'm going to go for a Stage 3, so if I did go with a Spec, I'd go with a Stage 3+?

Yes, yes and YES! :D The 3 is good, but the 3+ is made of an entirely different compound. It's far more streetable, and it holds more to boot!

FYI I ordered everything right from SPEC themselves. They're in Alabama so it'd be cheap shipping for j00 and they are the cheapest prices anywhere. Just phone up and order.

yea my buddy with a turbo integra destroyed a flywheel in 3 months with hes act clutch

I know someone that went through one in one day, he did the best burn out sort of you could do in an AWD. He did some burn out that turned into an AWD donut sesion.

I have a custom made one and love it, you have to be very specific what you ask for and have a bit of experience in what works and what wont for a daily driver.

Yeah, I saw the used one.. but I'm kinda leery on buying a used clutch.. rather pay more for the whole kit. Also, will the Fidanza flywheel work okay with the Spec clutch, or is it better to buy the Spec flywheel?

This is a very complicated thread since each of US have different tastes, feelings and experience Me personally had SPEC and Exedy and I didn't like them at all, i had Spec Stage 2+, Stage 3+, and Exedy stage 1 and after using the ACT Xtreme Pressure plate, and street performance disk, not even the 6 Puck Sprung race disk all i can say is good things, i really don't care or bother about reviews because every car is a different story, most of the ACT kit's are Heavy duty Pressure plate and street disk, but when you combine the Xtreme pressure plate and street performance disk is a complete different story, i talk about my experience with this specific car, i putted this clutch when i started with 250whp and now i'm doubling those numbers and my clutch is still holding strong after 2 full years of punishment. but this clutch thing is about your own opinion, people used to tell me ACT were crap, bad, very bad shattering etc etc etc. after using the other brands mentioned above i had to give it a try and i won't ever go back or use any other brand, model or combination than ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate, and ACT Performance street disk or in this case the 6 Puck Sprung Racing clutch do to the fact mine is already giving up on me on the numbers all of you know, and i need something that can hold more, and this 6 puck is the one to go.. hope my experience can help others when it comes about getting a clutch that is super super streeable and daily driving friendly and at the same time supreme quality and the most important is that holds the Torque you are looking for, cause what it kills the clutchs are not the HP is the Torque..

400HP at 30+ PSI ? that doesn't sound right Max. what turbo are you running at such high PSI and only making 400 HP ? just curious

Also not saying anyone on here is incompetent at all, but sometimes a bad review can 90% of the time be due to a less than professional install.

Agreed! I bet 100% of the problems with the clutches posted on this forum are a result of the install, improper break in or not changing additional parts to meet the demand of a stronger clutch.

I know a guy that burned through an ACT in his SHO in like 15K miles.... but he himself blames improper breakin... I suspect he didn't machine the flywheel either. I wouldn't doubt that if you don't do it right, you'll be unhappy with your clutch no matter what it is.

I had noticed that on the act clutches with my buddies wrx's. They would spit out discs like avery 10k-15k miles but the pressure plate was fine. It was annoying it was like every 4 months lets take the trans out.

There is no set hp for psi #, there is a lot to be had in the tune. If someone wants a safer tune they will not be able to make the most hp for the psi.

It seams like each clutch acts different, even if its from the same manufacture haha

But I would Never buy a used Clutch.
