High pitch noise on shift

I have an auto mazda2 and recently I have noticed a weird whining noise when gears are being shifted on higher rpms(4.5k-6k) will trigger that noise. Kind of sounds like it's slipping or like a metal to metal rub. Any ideas or has anybody encountered something like this? Probably have to make a trip to the dealer but just want to get an idea of what it could be. Thanks in advance!

I get a high pitch noise at ~7100 rpm, I am pretty sure it is a heat shield rattling around on our shop car.

Do you think it's just engine movement when shifting causing that noise?

If you are asking me not I dont think so, the noise is at the top of the RPM band and the engine is moved back but not as far as it would between shifts which are not very gentle. We have some go pro footage under the hood to see how much movement is really going on.

I am pretty sure what we are getting is engine frequency based.
