i am going to be buying a corksport exhaust soon and was wondering if i should go with the highflow cat or the catless version, are there any difference in sounds? what are your opinions?

You might get some backfires with the catless setup. I like them on mine. lol

without a catless exhaust it wouldn't pass emissions would it?
depends. if they just do an OBDII code scan (they do here, but my car is registered to a non-emissions county), you can pass that with a non-fouler fix.

if they do a visual, you're kinda boned, and if they do a physical sniffer test, you're even more boned.

I have the Vibrant exhaust which came with a high flow. I live in an emissions control county, I did however remove my cat after some time. The car was a little louder, the added power was noticable. I never got a CEL so I consider myself lucky, but last year and this year they started a visual inspection along with the OBDII plug in. I somehow convinced the guy last year that my resonator was in fact a cat, yeah right, last year. I didn't think I could get away with that again as I'd have to imagine that guy didn't last long so I pu thte cat back on for this years inspection.

i might just go catless and change back to stock for inspection since it should only take about 15 minutes tops to do, and plus i really don't want to spend an extra 200 to get a cat

I am catless and have been for nearly 5 years and it passes every time here in Ohio.

so you guys that are running catless, do you get CEL due to the cat being gone? sorry for bringing up an old thread, but i'm thinking of going catless and don't want to cruise with the CEL on cuz no cat.

or what u could do with the cat is have it welded on. then cut about 3 inches before it hits the piping take all the s*** inside the cat out then weld it back on. looks like u have a cat but theres nothin in there restrictin flow.

its called gutting the cat and yes thats what u should do so u have the performance of the non catted but the apearence of a cat. but if they probe ur tailpipe then ur screwed but if its obd2 like stated before u just have to trick ur computer with non foulers.
