My girlfriend has a 2005 Mazda6. I believe it's an i but I'm not too sure. Anyway, she does not have stock HID's and so I thought it would be good for her to upgrade because she always talks about how she can't see s***. I ordered the H1 DDM slimline kit only to find out that the H1 halogen bulbs are different than the H1 HID bulbs. The halogen bulbs are really skinny and the HID bulbs cannot fit through the hole to go into the housing. I've tried to search for this but failed. Does anyone know a solution or is it just impossible to upgrade the H1 halogens? Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure I had this same problem when I did an HID upgrade in my Prelude.. I ended up having to bend some of the metal inside the headlight shroud to make them stay in the headlights.. However I know this isn't the same as the 6, do you have a pic of the HID H1 bulb?

Actual come to think of it my headlights had a metal clip that held the bulb in place that I had to bend.. Does the 6 have those?

Yea the 6 has the metal retaining clip. And yea, it looks like its a thin piece of metal that has the hole in it for the bulb. Would it be ok to bend that to make room for the bulb??

And there's a pic on the DDM site here....

It's the first one. Here's a picture of the halogen H1 bulbs.

Yes thats what I would do.. Take a pair of pliers and bend that metal piece that holds the bulb in place.. Thats what I had to do on my Prelude and I'm confident it will work for you too..
