hid install help

just remmeber to re-aim them! They will more than likely need to go lower...or you will be mega blinding people.. our headlamps were not designed for hid...
How do you re-aim? I thought I may've been blinding ppl all night. I used the included doubled sided foam tape to make spacers thick enough so that the clips hold the bulbs in tight. I basically have the bulbs in the same way the oem bulbs were in.

Look for the bronze colored screw in each of the housingnext to where u installed the bulbs at...

I think they are 10mm... You need to pretty much use your better judgement..
I aimed them to where I do not light up peoples faces ( unlike my friend who raised his and got a ticket) when I am driving and they are about 25 feet out.
It is hard to really tell you what level to aim them at.. just adjust and gauge... find a nice dark wall.. park 25 ft. out and lower your beampattern on the wall about 2-3 inches and try it from there..

Damn, I had a hard time putting the damn bulbs in without touching them in broad sun shining daylight. I can't do anything in the dark. Anyone in the ny area wanna help me out with this?

post pics when they are installed, let us know the quality of em. they seem pretty cheap in price, might add it to my list :)

do not purchase from www.xenondepot.com They over charged me big time. They charged me 3 times for the purchase of 1 kit. I'm currently in the run around, trying to get back $940. The number on their site doesn't have anything but a voice mail. The other number they give is only to a local distributor for them in Colorado, all they've done so far is say they're gonna try and help me out, and just told me to leave my name and number with them. Things aren't looking good.

*edit: it seems xenondepot did not cause the screwup, but rather a failure of communication between paypal and my bank. Which resulted in a lot of frustration with pay pal's customer support, which sent me on a holding runaround for over and hour and a half, only for me to get some extremely discourteous woman to tell me its not their problem, and to take it out with my bank, which I had stated to everyone at paypal i talked to that I had talked to my bank already. In the end someone from my bank when on hold for the runaround with paypal for me. It seems paypal for some reason thought my account had insufficient funds, when I had over 3 times the amount needed. So they kept charging until they recieved the original amount.

k well i have attempted to set up the hid and failed. i have cut off my stock harness and made a cut in the hid harness, connected it and turned on the headlights and nothing. i switched the wires around and no light. I have checked all the fuses and none of them had blown. When i do hook them up though and turn my headlights on, it makes a buzzing noise that came from part of the hid kit. i waited a while and no light. Any ideas guys??? if not then i guess ill get someone to do them for me.

Wow!

Aren't these kits just plug-and-play?

If you want help, come by our shop, I'll help you out. :)

Cheers.

Did you make sure to ground the ballast? One of mine wasn't working at first, but after I changed the ground point of that ballast to another spot, everything turned on.

Careful man, you'll blow your ballasts. Send the kit back and get a plug and play one.

Yeah they sure look like a higher color tempature range then 6000k. It is a good kit, I am happy with it so far. We'll see how it stands up to a calgary winter, that will be the true test by my standards.

NOTE: there are no provisions for DRL with this kit so DRL must be deactivated or if you have the mod complete for DRL off/fog always on you will be ok.

Ya, I disabled my DRL's like a week after I bought my car. Not for HID's specifically, but just cause I hate them. What company are those made by? Not Luminarc are they?

The american spec P5's don't have a DRL unit if I am not mistaken.

Not sure what brand my kit is. All it says on the box is Helios HID 6000k and the rest is in Korean or something. All I know is that it works like a charm and speedtech gave me a smokin' deal on it.
