Alright... I've been lookin at the HID headlight conversions and i think they look sweet. They are also pretty expensive, but it seems like a must have. So i was just wonderin if I just buy the bulbs for at the most 100$$ will it give me the look im wantin ooorrr should i go the "right" way and buy the converters. If anyone could help me out on this that'd be great. Thanks

Are you talking about just putting the real HID bulbs in and not the full kit? If thats what you mean you cannot do that. HIDs need the ballast and starter to even work.

If you are talking about the fake wannabe HID bulbs compared to the real HIDs, thats like saying i want a Ferrari, but will I be happy with a Kia that has a ferrari badge on it?

I can put you in touch with a place to get the HID kit for $265 which is cheap. No you cannot just buy HID bulbs and expect them to work! I will post some pics later of another members kit and you can decide for yourself!

u gotta be kidding me..

save some more and get hid

hid has been the most money worthy mod on my car

zinx i see yours gonna go with an emanage. good luck! i've had mine about 6 mos. when it works it great, when you do anything different like bigger injectors its a nightmare. Its definatly not the easiest to tune.

i know im gonna get alotta heat for this, but i chose getting bulbs over the HID's. for me, it wasn't the money issue. i just wanted a pure white look from my h7s to contrast the yellow fogs i have as opposed to the blue HID look. i mean im still considering getting HIDs in the future (since i can get them for $200 =D ), but im happy with the look i have now. we'll see what happens when the bulbs burn out..

then plz get 5000k i believe it is the kit with most output

matter in fact, i have 6500k helios and it looks awesome with yellow fog

i can send you the pic if you want me to

you could get a 4k or a 5k kit and they would be pure white! Spend the money and do that you will be much happier and it will look a lot cleaner.

heres my 5k kit, the picture came out a lot more BLUE than it is in real life..in real life it's pretty much pure white once fully warmed up....btw: $100 for piaas or $200 for this kit... ? the conversion kit has an awesome beam pattern and really lights up the road...makes a night and "day" difference.. spend the extra dough!

the site i got them from is www.cqlight.ca

I'm really new to HID's (read: don't know jack about them) but have been toying with the idea for some time now. Does the "k" rating affect only the color of the light, or does it affect how bright it is too? (I know the higher, the bluer, but is a 13,000k necessarily brighter than a 6500k kit?)

the higher the rating the more color and less output i belive. 4300k is stock on most luxury cars, i went with 5000k and its still pretty white with good output. i saw a 10,000k kit and it was blue almost purple but the guy complained about not being able to see. lo

ok, that's more or less what I thought. I was looking @ this and that's about what I figured
