There was somebody on here that put them under the bumper. I want to do that too. Did you have to cut any wires or is it plug and play??

VERY plug-and-play...
No cutting wires...
Hardest part is to organized the wires...

But I wish they are separated... ( I'm not sure if I said it right!!! )
Two ballast needs only one H4 plug to operate...
The passenger side H4 plug is empty...

Did anybody install a dual beam kit?

I mounted the bulk of the relays and fuses on the drivers side...

and ran the wire to the passenger side between the radiator and the engine... it's so freaking hot there! After a run... I checked it and it was super hot...

But the prob is... There's not enough slack to run it elsewhere...

What did you guys to to solve this prob?

Did you extend the wires?
or should I just get heatshielding for the wires?

BTW.. I have a msp.. might make a little difff...

Striker187- thats exactly where I have my Right hand side one the left is farther back in the little area by the end where is space. So far so good.

Protege 1.6, Be careful. I also mounted my passenger-side ballast against the engine-bay wall(that exact spot that you used) and it fell off and shorted out. I was without my HIDs for a month. I only used the double-sided tape that they sent with the lights, and it didn't hold for s***.

BOLT THAT SUCKER UP if you haven't already. ;)

RE: Yellospeed

My kit is a dual-beam kit... For sure, the cable is not very long, that is as far as the cable will go leading to the passenger side ballst... I have no other location to mount the ballast...

I also ran the wire to the passenger side right in front of the intake assembly... The wire is hanging over the intake assembly support bar.... I felt the wire and it is warm like other wires, so I think it is not a problem... BUT NOT SURE....

I try to post a picture later....

RE: Natey

Yike... If you did not warn me, I will not even bother opening the hood to check the tape... That ballast is hanging loooooose...

Why did the ballast got shorted? Isn't the ballast have those protection and water-tight sealed???? I am getting worry...
very worry indeed... I dont want my kit to be plug-and-no-play after a month...

I found my drill can't get thru for a little hole... too crowd...

I'll seeeeee what I can do.... for a more secure installation...
Thanks a million.... thank you

Please post a pic.. .seriously wanna know...

As for the falling ballast.. here was my solution

(For the passenger side)... I taped it like you guys did... but I also wire tied it.. do you see the bolt along the top of the fender? It's actually bolting down the fender there...
You'll see it when you pop open the hood and stand by the tire...
It's painted body colored in your pic...

Undo that bolt... .slip the wiretie thru the bolthole and out from between the sheetmetal..... and onto the ballast.... and then zip it from there... worked for me... and no drilling :)

on the drivers side.. I found 2 holes already open in the bay that I just put a ziptie thru and tied the ballast that way...

if you want a pic... let me know... I can't host.. so I'll email it.
PM me your email addy.

This is how I run the wires to the passenger side ballast...

HOW THE WIRES RUN

----------------------------------------

This is the new things I did today for the loose ballast by tape...

pass-ballast.jpg

----------------------------------------

Finally...

DRIVER SIDE
All are held by those tape included.... Fortunately, they are well-sticky and well-secured... maybe the tape is made to bond to plastic instead to metal surface... and probably they are very light components... Ballast held by screw drilled and ground wire is connected there....

PASSENGER SIDE
The little black ignitor is held by tape also... Don't know why, they are sticky and very sticky...

Whoa... dude.. you are the man!

Nice pics... Totally should throw that into a real write up...

those clamps look like an awesome idea... I think I'll head to h/w store tomorrow too!

and as for the wire routing... hmm my cable isn't long nuff for what you did... I'll try again though... and my stock air unit is diff... and the cable touches the rad... super hot there... I'm gonna have to finda way around that... thx for the pics!
