Hiboost at 1/4 mile again

We just made our last run at California Speedway.

Marcelo run a 13.8 at 105 MPH. No hose getting loose!

Still too much tire spinning in first and second gear. He had to launch very soft at 3500 RPMS. That was the only way.

We are happy to brake into 13s on stock tires. They were not allowed to race anymore since they left the helmet at home.

Again in one run he beat a blue WRX and in the other an AUDI 1.8 turbo. Those two cars were really fast during the first 330 feet but after we are a lot faster.

Next time we will get the slicks.

awesome!! keep up the good work and lower those numbers.

Im curious on your timeslip tho. Can you post all the information starting with the 60ft? Im curious how the run went.

Im going to guess and say, 2.3 60ft's and 9.0 1/8th mile prolly around 82mph or so. :D

Ive been drag racing for 6 years in my previous cars so ive got a good idea.

You are almost, almost exact.
I will post the timeslip tomorrow when I get it from Marcelo.

60 ft's 2.39
330 6.27
1/8 9.1@84 MPH
1000Ft 11.7
1/4 13.8@ 105 MPH

We have done a better 60 ft last time 2.20 So with practice a 13.6 is probable.

Thank you we will try to improve.

lol Years of experiance my friend.

Can it give you a bit of advice? One of the major problems with "launching" is that many feel you need to rev high, drop the clutch, and floor the gas. The only that that gives you is a higher mph, higher ET, and lots of smoke.

Try launching around 2800rpm. On my P5 the clutch enages pretty quickly. Once the lights green and your rdy to go lean into the gas as you back off the clutch. Im sure your aware of feathering, but its not soo drastic. When launching it onyl takes a second or two. The idea is to get the wheels rolling before they start to spin freakishly.

Then while still in 1st gear, floor the gas once your completely off the clutch. And in some cases in my GTI i never hit full throttle while in 1st gear because it hurt my 1/8th times and 1/4 times because of the wheel spin.

The main thing to remember is that your on factory tires. Running 10psi of boost and drag racing isnt going to be easy. Is there a possibilty of running a 2 stage boost controller with your system to assist with the shortness of the gears with 10psi on tap in such a quick blip of the throttle?

Goodluck again!!!!

Sweet results!!! I hope to be in the low 14's when I hit the track initially, and then hit the 13's.

has the hiboost been tried on the mp3? im interested in a setup for mine.

The HB-101 kit will fit both P5 and MP3. Kits are ready to be shipped starting june 25th. PM me for details.

Cool! Glad to see the times improving. 12psi I assume? Race fuel? Like you said, you could probably run a 13.6 with some practice.

As promised, here's the original time sheet
