03.5 Ti MSP
Hi everyone, i just got a MSP over the week i thought i register here. I've been reading a lot of post from everyone hear and learned alot over the past few months.

answering question #1, i found this website through mazda's official website. i think it was under the links in the "performance corner", not sure it was a long time ago.

answering question #2, i dunno what my production # is yet, i clicked on the link but it didn't exactly show how to find out mine, it just showed everyone elses. maybe i did something wrong.

as far as the car, it's a 2003.5 titanium MSP, i got it used with only 2,500 miles on it in Lancaster PA. I absolutely love the car's handling, and speed. I came from a 94 118hp 626 automatic TO this MSP so its been quite a thrill the past few days.

i must say, i do enjoy watching cars in my rear view mirror much more than watching them through my windsheild. as fast as it is, i'd like to go faster (couldn't take a 02 gti 1.8t lastnite), and i hope you guys will continue informing me with your great insights on the car.

Welcome aboard!!

To find out your production number, call the 1-800 number in the thread that lists everyone's production number, they will ask for you VIN, so have it ready.

The 1.8t's are very quick, I held even with a 20th Anniversary editing GTI when I was stock, you might need a little learning time with a manual transmission. The car pulls to 7000 RPM.

Anyway, have fun, this board can offer great information as you have already found out.

Welcome aboard !

You came from a past similar to mine. I had a 95 626 Cronos V6 165hp. But it was manual. Surprising for a sedan, but... well not an MSP eh ! For those of you wondering about Mazda's reliability.. it has 225 000 km on it and still running like new. Never had any problems with it beside normal wearing parts. No rust anywhere also.

Oh and... Yes, getting to reverse was sometimes difficult, just as with our MSPs

they sure are, my friend just had a AWE chip and intake and he ran 14.2 on the track, and would've easily broken into the 13s if he was't using factory tires. the one i was racing looked stock however. he didnt pull on me and i didn't pull him either. he seems to pull on the shift points tho, dunno whether GTI's have longer gear ratios or i just suck at driving, lol. i shifted at 6.5k, i'm afraid to redline this car, thats how i blew the headgasket on my 626. One more thing, is your car flashed? I dunno if mine is, i didn't see a sticker n my dealer didn't know, but he did tell me there was no recall work done on that car.

1.8T's are no problem for me. I beat them all day long with intakes.

thats phat, what kind of intake do you have?

I have the injen cai. It was definetly worth the money. By the way I never shift passed 6750 there is no need to with our cars

hey welcome to the board ! make sure you visit the other sections of this forum and learn as much as you can about your car !

Yeah, I'm flashed. First and second gear to me seem more benificial when taken to 7000, maybe take third to 6750, but it is better (in my eyes) to take it past redline, our peak hp is what, 6000, so if you shift around 7000 you will land in a higher power part of your hp curve as well, not to mention the fact that I can feel it pulling all the way up.

Just my immature, 17 year old $.02
