Hi everyone. "New" CX9 owner :)

2008 CX9
Hey everyone. I've been lurking here for the past 2-3 weeks, just trying to get insight on which car to purchase. I sold my 2006 Nissan Murano SL because my wife wanted a car with a 3rd row seat. I wanted a minivan but she refused to drive a minivan as her daily driver :) We were actually in the market for either a Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander. We had put an offer for a 2008 Highlander and was going to pick it up the following day, but late at night, I did more research on "similar" cars to the Highlander and Pilot. I read a ton of reviews from different sites about the CX9 and was intrigued. So the next morning I asked my wife if she wanted to check out the CX9. She was open to the idea so we went to check one out. She liked the looks of the CX9 right away. We test drove it and fell in love with the car. To make a long story short, we now own a 2008 CX9 Sport. Although we were going to get a Grand Touring model, the price of the Sport was too good to pass up. Our Sport model came with the roof rack and crossbars, plus a rear trailer hitch. We decided to get a Viper alarm, Pioneer AVIC X940BT DVD/Navigation, rear view camera, and a ceiling mount DVD player for the kids. I've also installed a 6000K HID kit and replaced all the interior lights with LED's.

After we got everything installed I decided to do some detailing using a clay bar, Flex dual action polisher, and Menzerna polishes and sealant. Here's some pics.

With the rear DVD player screen down, I can't really see out back. I'm glad the Pioneer has the option of leaving the rear view camera on at all times if needed.

Anyhow, glad to be a part of the community. This site is definitely a great source of information.

Welcome! Nice detailing job! Looks brand new!

Thank you. I could have done a better job but I just wanted to take some quick pics. My wife is definitely enjoying the car. We've taken it to San Diego and Palm Springs. The kids love the overhead DVD player. I like the Pandora feature on the head unit and how I can leave the rear view camera on at all times so I can see out of the rear when the overhead DVD player screen is down.
