I have a Rx-7 (1995) lately I been hearing this rattling noise coming from the engine, usually when engine is idlle, any help is much appreciated, this is my 1st mazda so I dont know much about it.

a rattling noise? any loss of power or any other issues associated with it? Is it something rattling outside the engine or something that sounds internal?

Does the sound change when you push the clutch pedal down? Could be a throwout bearing...

Could be most anything. But when you said "it's usually at idle" my first thought is a loose heatshield. The resonance of the engine at idle usually makes it audible.

I agree with Kenetsu, throw out bearing. If it seems to rev and run fine and goes away when you puch the clutch in, get ready to pull the tranny.
