Has anyone tried making their Hi beams(I believe 9003 bulbs) into low light output daytime running lights?
Up here in Canada, DRL's come standard on every car made since the early 90's(I think). Anyhoot, what I'm trying to do to my P5 is have the lights used for the hi beams to come on instead (at a lower light output). I have seen some cars like the Honda Civics that have this set up but not sure how the DRL's output light at a lower intensity and yet emit full power when the hi beams are activated.
Rewiring the headlights and using relays to activate the inside light on my P5 are not a problem but how do I send lower voltage to the 9003 bulbs thus emitting lower intensity lights? Perhaps some kind of load resistor inline from the battery to the bulbs? If so, where and what do I need?
If anybody has any ideas/suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
