Hi Folks. I bought a Black Cherry '07 Sport with 10k miles last Saturday and love it so far. It has the Bose/Moonroof/Power Seat package and is a blast to drive. I'd narrowed it down to the Edge and the CX-7 and obviously, the CX came out on top.
Thanks to finding this (and the other) forum over the weekend, I've already learned tons about the vehicle, things to watch for, TSBs, CAIs and various other TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms). There's a serious wealth of information here for any new owner if one takes the time to comb through the forum.
Here are a few initial thoughts after driving my CX for a few days:
1. It handles like a dream for a vehicle of it's size.
2. The lag from a standing start is really annoying. It feels like the motor chokes out initially and then suddenly remembers to accelerate. Hopefully the TSB will smooth that out.
3. Roll on power at freeway speeds is very nice.
4. Love the Bose. Hate the fact that I got one that doesn't play MP3s. It's also a bummer that RANDOM only plays random songs on one CD rather than randomizing all six. Also, I'm sort of surprised Mazda didn't include the aux options ala the Edge so we can use an MP3 player. I've read the threads on that subject and have plans to install an aftermarket solution for my Zen.
5. I wish the external temp gauge and compass were a part of every CX trim.
Anyway, I'm quite happy with it, overall, and have learned a ton reading the forum. Now I just have to get my Turbo badge. *grin*
