Style is particular but the powertrain is pretty good.

Its quite a beast as far as powertrain goes. And thats the engine in the new cobalt ss which is lighter.

I sat in one at the chicago auto show last weekend. Interior build quality and the overall fit and finish on it was sub par to even my 01 Protege MP3...

yeah those things are ugly as hell inside and outside for that matter but GM did just invest a lot into upgrading its interiors so there may be a "upgrade" here soon.

whats up with the new Cobalt is it coming or is that just talk cause no one a chevy knows. Its not even on chevy's website

The cobalt should be out by may or june I heard.... its going to be fast and they are only about 2800 pounds which is lighter than our MS3's. But I owned a cobalt ss supercharged and the build quality was really poor, but their engine's pontetial is unbelievable. I take quality on our cars over gm's..... which is bad. (rockon)

its comming out soon too, summer of 08 is what i have heard so june seems right. and the new GM vehicles are getting realllllly good. just read about some of them. The first car to get here with the new GM way of things is the Malibu and in all truth that car is very nice for the kind of car it is. It competes against toyta and honda well.

Being a new model, any thoughts about Malibu improved quality/reliability are only those you read/hear in the GM advertisements. (blah) Better than a Camry or Accord? I'll pass judgement in 3 years!(huh)

i too sat in the one at Chicago. taking into account the fisher price interior and with a grain of salt no less, i still think its a nice car. styling is what it is, some angles look great and some look odd. not nessecarily bad looking.

i've been toying with the idea of trading the 5 for something that can haul big boxes, etc and have more punch at the wheels. this and the mini clubman S are on my short list, but i think i'll be keeping the 5 in the long run. i think both the HHR and Clubman S will have a good amount of power but they aren't going to be Mazdaspeed3 chasers by any means. not out of the box anyways. there is no replacement for displacement, especially when the larger displacement is boosted, and the ms3 has that advantage by .3 liters

Ive sat in one of the new malibus...its nice, granted i havent been in a new accord yet i have never found hondas to be all that great, reliable yes, but nice cars not so much. The camry is nice but it doesnt have the kind of style the malibu does.

If it isnt a V8 rear wheel drive it isnt a real SS... IMO. Sorry if I ruin the thread.

I think GM is throwing around the SS badge and kinda making a mockery of it.
