Hey guys and girls,

Here's a rough sketch of the paint scheme I'm thinking of doing on my SCCA racer. The blue is supposed to be a deep and bright cobalt blue and the yellow is just bright yellow, similar to the P5 yellow. I also put in a pic of the car as it is now so you can see the body line u can't see on the sketch.

Let me know what you think.

The only suggestion I have is this: consider how much work/time/money would be involved in repainting a replacement body panel (especially one with detailed "artwork"). Other than that, paint it to whatever floats your boat. The more obnoxious the paint scheme, the more attention you'll get (read: potential sponsors). Remember though, road course racing isn't a car show based on appearance by any means :).

yeah the paint isnt going on for a while, for now I'm getting the car ready for the SCCA driving school. So I have plenty of mechanical stuff to work on and buy with a pathetically low budget. Plus the paint is gonna be cheap paint I can just spray on over the expected scratches. So I tried to keep it as simple as possible.
I appreciate the imput, especially from a fellow racer.
So keep 'em coming!!

well that would be too much trouble to maintain and extra money that i dont have.

The only race that thing is competing in is the race against corrosion. And looks to me like it's losing. Bad.

Rust is actually not that bad... It does have dents all over but it's a race car...
and most of 'em are getting fixed as we speak (type).

Well i think that any paint scheme looks better than it does now. Its your car and you should do what you want with it. You only live once so you might as well make it how you envision it!
