Hey i have a question about the turbo....

I remember when i first got the car....it felt so fast, but after about two oil changes it seems that the car no longer pulls as hard as it use too? I let the car sit for 2 mins after running it hard so i don't think it is from oil starvation to the turbo....but in a way i am afraid that it might be....I hope my turbo isn't zonking out on me....I already got the flash so it no longer clunks, but i just don't feel that UMPH power anymore. Could it be my spark plugs? ONE MORE QUESTION! You know how you can cut away some of the metal in hondas to reveal the cam gears? Well can we do that to ours!? :) It looks awesome....

BTW i pulled up to a 990 hp supra last night.....:wtf: Fastest one in columbus, ga. ANYWAY, THAT s*** WAS SOOOOOO FAST! When he down shifted to second...i swear to god....there was a big piece of sheet metal in the road that was launched of pavement by his exhaust.....(bowdown) He told me to bring a camera next time and post a clip of me getting wooped....asshole....but it would give us a good idea of how we compare to his car....think i should?

i think it's probaby more mental than anything as far as the power goes. you can check over everything and look for something wrong, but i bet it's in your head.
you can cut the timing belt cover to reveal the cam gears, but i believe the top part of the cover is part of the valve cover so you have to cut metal to do it.

hmmm i see, i notice that valve cover thing...i was like WTF man....that would take some shop work i guess

ehh, it isn't really thick metal, you should be able to cut it with like a sawzall or something, just make sure you don't cut too much.

hahahaha.

Well you see when you get your ECU flashed, your suspension stops clunking

Hey Brian MP5T, that is a very nice looking engine bay, what type of power are you making????? Oh and just thought I'd mention, the flash fixes the clunk, and new bushings fix the hesitation...lol

damn that's one crazy mani MP5t, how did you remount the cam magnet sensor? it sits on the camgear housing. I was thinking building some bracketry to replace, but I'm not sure how much I can move it around.

Just curious, but do modifications void the warranty? I'm knew to the modification world. Also, my friend suggested getting a "blowout" thing. What do you guys think? I want to get a blitz turbo timer, some type of air intake, and I am in desperate need of a very good radar detector. Living in Chicago is no joke. Please provide suggestions. Oh yeah, I have a 2003.5 blue Mazdaspeed proteg.

yeah i think that's what he meant. run a search and you'll find plenty on the warranty info. in fact, you'll find answers to all your questions on the board. search and read :) but if you have more questions, ask away.

You already answered your own question. If you read about the flash, you'll notice MANY people (including myself) saying that the car felt "sleepier" than it did before. It's just the adjustments made by the flash. The car's power is still there, but it's in a much more linear manner instead of a "step on it..slowly accelerate..wait...snap...WOOOHOOO" kinda deal. If you want that "feeling" again, just burn through your tires. I'm gettin' pretty low on tread right now and it's easy for the car to jerk around even at low acceleration.

Do not cut off the piece that holds the Cam Position Sensor. It's a b**** to adjust and I have spent $200.00 to get a new valve cover done up just this week.

I have yet to dyno. Still waiting on Clutch, Driveshafts and a new set of AWR mounts.

No point in busting the car on a dyno until it's finished.

My speed did the same thing he's talking about 6 months after I had the flash done. It actually quit pulling hard when I put my snow tires on and thought it was from the different wheels/tires. But, I put my stocks back on and it didn't feel any stronger. I think a big part of it is mental because my friends still say it pulls pretty damn hard. Biggest part that makes me think differently about it not being mental, and this sounds like a crappy test, but it works. There is a stretch of road out by my place where i could always floor it in second and the wheels would break loose once the turbo kicked in on wet pavement regardless of temperature. Now, can't get it to do it at all and all the tires have done is worn down... :wtf:

So, yeah, I definitely know where he's coming from. And the ecu reset doesn't do s*** on my car...

again back from the dead...thats 2, where you been dude?
did you just get the email that a reply was made? haha
dsl is much faster man
