Hey!
Now about my mazda...
-2010 Mazda 3 hatch
-17 inch Alloy Wheels
-no sunroof, no bose sound system, no nav, (immidetly i assumed its not the gran touring model because my friend has one and i dont have those features and he does)
-Velocity Red (so shiny when i wash it, to this day i still cant believe how shiny that car is.)
-automatic
-When i got it it had just under 18,100 miles, now its been about 4-5 months and im at 20,xxx.
-When i got it, there was no shelf for the back and no owner manual, didnt really care about those things.
-and got a warranty on it.
Now i gotta double check with my dad because i want to do mods. I know i cant do anything mechanical, so there goes lowering it or putting maybe a chip in there, or a new exhaust. (I got my eye on a Corksport one)
Now i know i can put some cool rims on it as long as they dont screw up my alligment or the car in some way. Im sticking to the 17 inch - 18 inch wheels sizes. I know i can do tints. Thats about it for mods with warranty on.
I really want to do front lights and rear lights. Probably tint, unless someone comes up with cool aftermarket ones. Or i save up money and buy a pair of the OEM ones and take those apart and do what some people already done, made their own custom headlights. I want to paint the emblems black. and paint the "inside" of my rear bumper black or vinyl wrap it to make it look like it would be a bumper from a speed3. Maybe somehow make the roof black and a carbon fiber hood or just go and paint it black. Those are some mods, but as you know everything changes with taste. So dont judge, i might not go through with all mods listed.
Im fairly new to the Mazda world.
Now i am gonna tell a story, so if you like to read, keep on reading, if not just go along with your business and see you around on the forums!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a college student, 2nd year, im on my 3rd car, and i am a gearhead. Now dont let it scare you that i am on my 3rd car. My first car was a '90 BMW 525i, which only got for $1000, and it only had 115K miles on it. There was rust, and it needed a new head-gasket when we got it, along with other small things. My dad decided to sell the car since he wanted me to have something more reliable for college. Im about 170 miles away from home, and most of my ride back is through farmland. About 7 or so months, my dad got me a car i had my eye on for a while. A BMW e39. This one was 1999 528i. I loved it. Had it for about a year, during that my dad managed to score some OEM Style 42 BBS for it, and he refinished 2 of them, 2 other two were in progress, my dad is gone most of the time so he did what he managed to do when he had time, and me being so excited for the rims, drove on 2 finished and 2 unfinished wheels. I had no time or materials to do it since A) The first semester in college the car was at home, and the 2nd semester it spent it with me at college and B) the car was away 2nd semester so when my dad had time it was not there. Mid second semester i got the biggest urge to get a manual transmission car. My dad owns a 94 BMW 530 (with a 4.0 L V8 in it), performance chip and some other small mods and everytime and it was 5 speed. I drove it once and i loved how quick it was. At this time i guess you guys can get a hint that me and dad, well our whole household, are BMW Fans. We are, but we like other cars too. A true gear head dosent hate on other cars. So after i finished off my first year of college, my dad sometime during early spring, bought a wreaked 95 BMW 540i. It was in pristine condition all the way around except well... the front end was missing. My dad later talked to this friend who is a BMW guy too, and traded that wrecked BMW 540 plus some cash for a 91 BMW 318is (E30). When i got back home for the summer, i was excited. I drove it around my neighborhood learning how to drive stick. I manged to almost get the hang of it, when my dad asked... well... which one do you want. The e30 or keep the e39. I had this dillema for a while. The e30 was stick, i could do a lot of mods to it. But i just liked my E39 too much. So we put both on the market, and see which one would go first. The first one to go was the e30. At that point my dad decided to tell me this... "Since you are in college and need to focus on school, not worry about if your car breaks down (my e39 had around 150k miles, and the transmission was starting to jerk a little bit) maybe we should get you something more fuel efficient, and practical." At that time my e39 was still on the market, and i was determined to sell it at that point. I was upset because the idea of me getting a new car totally went against the whole owning a nice sedan (a nice "limo"), and i was sad i let the e30 go. So... my dad tossed the idea of hatchbacks. At that point, i was running though options. Volvo C30 or whatever, Golf GTI, Mazda 3, Subaru etc. My dad was on board with the mazda since before i got my driving permit. That actually was supposed to be my first car. So one day we looked at cars, at that point i was like you know what i dont want a stick now. I dont know how to handle a manual tras car. So we looked at cars, and after a couple hours, we decided not to go and look 2 hours south of our location to check out the First gen Mazda 3 hatches. My dad decided to check the local dealer if they had any. I told my dad they dont because i went there about a week before. My dad didnt really care. On the ride there, my dad goes... "Well the price difference isnt really that big between the good condition first gen mazdas and the new body style ones. We will look at those too. We get to the dealer, we ask, the guy says nope we do not have any first gen mazdas but we have a couple hatches over there newer ones. We walk down the lot, and all i see is basically Black mazda 3 hatches, a couple grey sky actives. And this really nice light silver 2012 Mazda Speed 3. Oh geez i wanted that thing so bad. But i saw the price and it was like well... not getting that. My dad told the sales man the price range and that we would like one used. He took us further down the lot, and showed us a Velocity Red Mazda 3 hatch, and a 2011 Mazda 3 Hatch gran touring and a 2011 mazda 3 sedan. I didnt want the sedan. I got the hot hatch fever. So it was narrowed to those two. From the two the red one was the one. Cheaper, and i liked the color. So i took it for a test drive and i loved it. It felt quick, and more edgy i guess than the BMWs iv owned. Once we came back, my dad and mom did the paper work, and warranty n such. When i finally drove it off the lot i couldn't believe it. I had a almost brand new car! I had a joke among my friends that "I should get out of the '90s" for the cars. And i finally did haha. So this is my car history/ how i got my mazda. Hope you guys enjoyed it! I know its a lot, but i was reminiscing while writing this hahaha
