hey guys, this cured my knock but is it bad?

i tried lucas octane booser and my knock is completly gawn. what i need to know is if its bad to run octane booster at every fill up?

i run octane boost at all my fill ups with my cobra with no problems yet. gets a little expensive after a while though. havent tried with the speed yet though. might look into it since i have some pretty nasty knock lately.

What octane is the fuel you're using?

You must have bad gas in your area or some mods that are causing it. You shouldn't need booster to get rid of knock. 93 should work fine with stock ECU or stock map, but if I were you, I would do whatever it takes to prevent it.

You might try using a different brand of gas? My car knocks like crazy on Shell 93, seems to be happy with Chevron & grocery store 93.

interesting ... i've just recently decided to stop using shell and try another brand to see if the car behaves "different"

in a sense, I think it is bad. To me, it is kind of like throwing a news paper over the pile of piss on the floor instead of just cleaning it up.

thats funny cause i dont believe i had knock on exxon but when i filled up at shell i did have knock. when my tank of octane booster fuel runs out im gunna try just plain exxon 93 octane and see if it was just bad gas
