all4, welcome to the boards. I think you'll love your Speed6 once you get the few standard initial wrinkles ironed out.

Check the clutch TSB, and get a rear bone motor mount. That will make the shifting a lot more reasonable. You can add a short shifter and aluminum bushings to this combo as well.

For basic power there are a lot of decent options for intakes, a few intercoolers, and then the test pipe, downpipe, and a few exhausts. I think the test pipe is one of the best $/performance items out there.

It's a great car, as long as you aren't looking for a track beast or a horsepower monster. It can be very quick, and super comfortable, and a very fun daily driver.

I had to pull teeth to find out what he had, but I can say that you've got one very well rounded car with a lot of similar ideas to my personal plans.

Like it's been said, you can shell out the cash for the AP and a tune right up front, but I would venture to say you'd probably enjoy the car even more if you built it in increments. You're obviously not new to the world of modding cars, but each car is a little different. How much are you looking to spend on mods right out of the gate? What do you want to accomplish right off the bat? That can really be your guiding hand in terms of what to do going forward.

Honestly, not sure yet. I might buy the accessport right off the bat as the local tuner is doug from topspeed in alpharetta... he's one of the best AP tuners in the south east. In all probability though, i'll do a test pipe and AP after i drive it around for a bit and get settled. Basically after i become more familiar with the car, the modding process will start slowly.

I'm just biding my time to enter the ROTM and blow everyone away.

Thanks! The ONLY color i wanted was pearl white...ever since i saw it i was hooked. Everything else was not as nice (sorry other colors).

The TSB issue will be the No. 1 thing after i pick it up. When I do, its going to straight to the dealer that weekend for a full checkup and possibly a differential/motor oil change. im going to address that clutch issue within the first week. I want the local dealer to see that its stock and get the car in the records. (I always keep very detailed service records)

Be aware that once the dealer gets their hands on it, they might reflash the ECU. There have been several reflashes, at least one has been reported to rob power. I don't know if you can tell them to keep their hands off or not. Someone who takes their car to a dealer can give you better information on this than I can.

If you're going with a test pipe, then planning on going with the downpipe, you won't be needing the TP anymore.

I'd definitely drive around for a week or two and see what areas you'd like to improve. There are a lot of areas that need attention before others, and I'm sure living with the car day to day, you'll figure them out.

Be aware that you MAY not like the TSB switch. I have met 3 people that have had it done to their cars and driven one with it done myself and didn't like it. It felt like the clutch out of a Ford Focus or some low end hoopty like that. Ask the salesman you worked with if anyone there owns a Speed6 and has had it done. Then ask if you could take it for a spin (with them of course) and see how you like it. I couldn't stand it. You get used to the clutch in the car, it took me probably a good month, now I'm pretty much flawless with it. Just a heads up...

Let me know if/when you plan on coming up to ATL for that tune. I might come join you at Topspeed. I've been holding off on modding my Speed6 for a bit, and I've heard Doug knows Subaru best, but maybe if he had two Speed6s at his disposal... who knows. I don't actually know his experience with our engine.

oh and i see your in canada...

i tried calling turbine tech using the number they put in their signature and on the website...

when i called them, some guy picked up who spoke french... i said "turbine tech?" twice and he just hung up on me... They seem to be communicating through some people on the other mazda boards which is very sketchy... i would really like to rock an air to water setup but im not going to spend 700+ dollars on something with no customer support and a sketchy ordering system...

anyone agree?

Thanks for the info on the air to water. I was holding off because i saw some fishy stuff going on too... im going to wait a bit and see what happens.. either that or i'll have a local fabricator that did the custom intake manifold/intercooler piping on my integra to make my own for a lot less.

i have every bolton/accesary available aswell as full coilovers suspension mounts, cages etc.. all layin in my basement for about a few months now... why u ask?.. i want to do everything in one huge shot and compare the befor and after, ill be doing the cobb preset mapp aswell as a custum dyno tune, a friend of mine is running 340hp and 380torque to the floor on stock turbo runing i belive 22psi custum tune for about a year. hes 33 and doesent belive in forums ahhaha, he is one master wiz when it comes to techy s*** like engines turbos etc.. hasent had a problem yet he says. he did do internals forgot to mention.. grinded the stock cams.. i saw flames a few times come out of that spe single exhuast lmaoo it was cute ahhahaha
