not thousands huh? those must be some connections you've got there! a high quality paint job (minus any connections) will go for at least 3-4k. Even if you're able to knock that down by 75%, that's still 1k that you could have thrown into an FMIC or exhaust. I'm not trying to be a hardass here.... I guess i just like silver too much to see someone change it. Also, knowing how many black msps that are available to buy, it just seems rather foolish to have not bought one of those if black was your thing. but as you said... impulse buy.

as far as leaving the wing on... of cousre you can do whatever the hell you want with your money and your car. but it seemed like you were looking for mod suggestions so I threw it out there. someone mentioned keeping the wing soley because it's what makes our cars unique. in reality, not having a wing would make an msp far more unique (not to mention, far better looking... at least on silver) besides, there are enough things on the car already (you know what they are so I'm not gonna list em) to more than make up for any loss in the unique dept losing the wing would provide.

having an orange msp (defintely one of the colors the wing looks good on) up here in CT sort've bums me out. the combination of the tires and color sort've make it a fair weather friend. it pains me to garage it up during the winter and drive around my slow, gas guzzlin, lumberin suv. if I had waited and gotten the silver... I'd essentially have (what I see as) a mini late gen Audi A4. Slap on some high perf all seasons and i wouldn't need that stupid suv. so... yeah, I guess i'm jealous! lol ironically, my car would fit in perfectly in the crazy hot houston climate. so let's trade ! lol j/k unless you want to! hahaha

.... (nobody)

how is de-winging an MSP more unique? there are far more proteges without MSP wings than proteges with MSP wings, its part of the MSPs character, it DOES make it unique, thats why its a MS Protege, and not a Protege...

welcome aboard atrocious, sounds like your on the right track aside from the repainting it, if you are really that interested in doing that i'm sure there are plenty of black mica guys who would be willing to trade... nice car, you should definitly have a lot of fun driving and modding it :D, and welcome again...

silver is the rare one especially here, i have seen 2, mine and some 40 year old guy with a baby seat in the back (adds 15whp), there are tons and tons of titanium ones and several yellow and orange ones too, i love the silver, welcome aboard. have fun

what kind of budget do ya have for your big plans?

in terms of performance, you said ic and intake? those are good - there's actually a decent selection of parts availabe. also consider the exhaust side of things, and EM (+boost controller) makes things pretty fun.

little stuff like SS and bushings and such make the daily driving a bit more enjoyable.

welcome to the community.

first thing ya gotta do is take that #@$#@ing wing off. With a silver msp, it's an absolute MUST!! just look at mx3's and tell me you disagree.
Tell me you're joking.

Okay I know a little about cars but i'm not a whiz so could you explain what EM is and what it does? also SS...

I know what bushings are i had them replaced on my car already

EM = short for EMS = Engine Management System.

SS = Short Shifter

Check out my cardomain page if you want to get some other ideas for good parts.:)

505zoom took out the two acronyms - sorry about assuming.

the bushings i meant were shifter bushings as opposed to the suspension bushings that sqeak on the car. the shifter bushings just make shifting that much more fun and tight.

i guess the modding just depends on a few things. first could be warranty. if you're still convered, you might not want to void it by going big w/ fmic and such. second (previously mentioned) is budget. the prices of aftermarket parts on the msp varies, but for the most part they are good quality products and decent prices. be warned - you could very easily drop into the car as much as you paid for the car itself.

hope you enjoy the car as much as i enjoy mine!
