What exhaust should i get for my Mazda 2?! i want something with some noise but not to loud like those coffee can hondas, but i dont want something that quiet either

I have the Racing Beat exhaust (because it was much cheaper) and the Corksport intake, and it sounds amazing. My buddy says it doesn't even sound like a 4 cylinder anymore. The volume is just right too, slightly loud but 100% bearable even on long trips. I was very surprised how much of a difference the intake makes to the exhaust/engine sound.

The corksport is like $100 more but it's am actual exhaust I think it's 2.1" over the stock 1.75" in the mid pipe. The racing beat is an axle back so while it may sound good it doesnt increase performance much if at all. While the corksport will increase HP (due to more free air flow) and high end kick.
So if your gonna spend more than $250 just get the Corksport. Other wise do what CRG and Mazdamatic did and have a shop do a custom exhaust.

I also have Racing Beat. Perfect fit, sounds great! Easy install, didn't even need to lift my car up (before I lowered it).

Yea if you want to spend a lil extra but actually see a power gain get the CS. But if you want just that little rumble in the back and not worried about race car status get the Racing Beat. I have the RB and commute 2 hrs a day and its not a bother at all.

If you're not concerned about performance, there's also this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mazda2-Mazd...es&hash=item5ae8b5ba3f&vxp=mtr#ht_1105wt_1037
A member on here bought one a while back but you'll have to search to find it and what they thought of it. I'd go with the CS if it were me.

I purchased this exhaust. I have since had my secondary cat and resonator cut out and its a little TOO raspy for me. I'm actually having the extra resonator cut off of that muffler to help get rid of the rasp.

Just a piece of info we picked up while doing some dyno testing but our Mazda 2 with the SRI and exhaust system dynoed out at 109 peak whp on our new dyno last thursday. This was done with the "brand x" calculation on a dyno dynamics which means it is a comparison for dyno jet numbers. I think the numbers may actually be a little bit higher as the car was on the BFG R1 race tires when we put it on to run it.

Wow, thats a nice gain. That's got to be an improvement of at least 10 hp, since if I recall some have posted stock numbers of near 100whp. I'm definately looking forward to when I can get around to adding both products.

some were posting stocks in the high 80s low 90s which on this car is understandable.

That may be, but there's no way a car making 90whp will see a 19whp gain from an intake and cat-back exhaust system.

I didn't dyno mine stock, but I know that my dyno results on my custom exhaust (cat delete, resonated 2.25") paired with the CS intake saw similar gains (8-10WHP and 10-13WTQ) based on common stock dyno reports.

Our shop car is running the racepipe version of the exhaust and one of the discontinued crankshaft pullies as well when it was put up on the dyno.
