2001 mazda protege mp3
hey im pretty new to mazda im buying a GT28RS Disco Potato Turbocharger because all i have is about 1500 bucks so when i put it in my mp3 what else should i get with it so i dont destroy my car?

well, now that you have a turbo charger (and a bloody powerful one at that), you'll need:
recommend changing the rods so that you can take advantage of such a large turbo and not blow up your engine

intake
full exhaust (manifold, downpipe, catback)
intercooler (with piping)
blow off valve
bypass valve?
standalone or piggyback computer
oil return lines drilled into the oil pan (to go to the turbo)
motor mounts
turbo timer
upgraded PCV valve

to make sure you know what is going on under the hood, I would recommend a boost gauge, oil temperature gauge, wideband gauge, water temperature gauge

Guys, am I forgetting anything cause I'm sure I am (I don't have a turbo after all)

and more money cause 1500 isnt gonna get close to everything

Oh ya, I knew I forgot to mention that part (mswerd)
The turbo is 1200$ alone at protegegarage...

holy crap i didnt think it was gonna be that much...err how much you think it will cost all together for just the parts?

Bare minimum $2500-$3000, and much more if you go with a forged motor (highly recommended).

Please do not take offense at this, but research this **thoroughly** as it is quite clear that you do not know enough to build your own custom turbo kit. It's not like an cold-air intake. You can't simply buy a turbo, slap it on somewhere, and call it a day.

ok nvm maybe i should save the turbo idea for another day (when i have more money) so i have 1500 bucks what do you guys think i should get, i already have a intake and exhaust what should i get next? im thinkin headers and cams.?

forget the headers if you plan on going turbo in the future (if you have ditched the turbo, then yes, headers).
pistons mentioned above would be if you want to start going towards a forged engine (useless if you aren't going FI (forced induction, ie: turbo)), or you can get different pistons if you want to go higher compression...this would lead to you NEEDING premium gas assuming you weren't already using that, and of course a standalone to manage this. You would also need a standalone (someone correct me on this if I'm wrong) if you get new cams.

Here are some options for you:
Depending on what you have changed on your exhaust, I would look into buying a new midpipe (or j-midpipe) with a high flow cat ~250-400$ depending on where you buy it or if you go custom.
Get the evolv clunk fix bracket to get rid of, well, the clunk ~200$
Tighter springs for a lowered car ~150-200$
UDP (under drive pulley) unless you are running a BIG stereo ~200$
Short shifter and shifter bushings!!! ~150$
Front motor mount ~75$
DaveB gauge rings!!! ~30$
This still leaves roughly 300$ to play around with:
tint for the car ~200$ ?
braided brake lines/clutch line <200$
better brake pads or rotors 75$/300$
HID kit ~300$
Sirius satellite ??
Or whatever else you might want to add to the car for looks
