i just intalled a new sub and amp and used the stock deck. i also used the wiring that i had for the spare tire sub as the remote which worked fine. but when i turn the car on i get all kinds of engine noise from the sub. i tried moving the remote wire to the passenger side because the power is on the drivers and no difference. any help would be much appreciated.
thanks

not the remote

Its not the remote wire its the RCAs that run from the head unit to the amp. Try a ground loop isolator, or try moving those. I've had luck going behind the glove box, then pulling up the carpet and going down the passenger side.

the ground should be fine. its about a foot and a half and i ground the paint away and used a self tapping screw into the trunk floor. i used a fixed line output converter and just used the speaker wires for the left and rights of the old spare tire sub. so the rca's are already at the back. i didnt need to run them. and i just used one of the wires that was run to turn that sub on for the remote.

does anyone have pics of where they connected the fixed line output converter behind the stock deck to run RCA's?

i'll tell yeah right now if ya really wan't good sound replace the HU and the door speakers.....mucho better
