Well, I tried jumping my 2014 cx5, 80k miles, always has ran great, and the jump start it didn’t even seem to make a difference. No electricity of any kind. So, I started checking fuses testing relay boxes. Couldn’t find anything that was faulty. Decided to try jumping it again, and after leaving it on the jumper cables for longer, 15 minutes, it started fine.
Except…..now all kinds of warning and engine lights are on and it runs like s***. Doesn’t shift smooth at all. After driving it a hundred yards, I pulled into a parking lot and turned it off. I then tried disconnecting the battery cables and let it sit for 15 minutes. Reconnected them and started it up fine, but same thing; all kinds of engine warning lights on and drives super clunky.
Then, I got a new battery. Still all the warning lights (warning, check engine, scbs, abs….)and clunky driving. I feel like because I was checking fuses and relay boxes I messed something up. It’s always ran perfectly before that.
People are saying alternator, but there were no signs of weak alternator before this and it ran perfectly.
Have been trying to do some kind of factory reset, by unhooking battery terminals and reconnecting them, but nothing changed.
At this point I’m planning on getting it towed to a Mazda service mechanic.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks.
