Ok as most of you know I have two torn Meniscus (sp), one in each knee and I need surgery on both.

That being said, what at home exercises do you recommend that I can still maintain or lose weight without having to watch what I eat TOO much?

Also, has anyone here had that knee surgery?

I've had knee surgury, torn/cut quad tendon (patella tendon, above the knee)

are you looking for knee exercises, or just something to do in general to try to stay in shape, but not hurt your knee?

when I was in physical theropy for 7 weeks they made me do so much s*** that I could probably give you good knee exercise advice, but as for regular stuff, I would say do what you would normally do, and if it hurts your knee, do something else.

Not me, but my mother-in-law had knee replacement a few years back and I think she did a lot of zero impact stuff in the pool.

I tore my ACL, MCL, and maniscus. Dr said if Im not a pro athlete, I dont really need the surgery. My good friend had the surgery on his and he has more pain/problems than I do. Mine just gets a little sore when it gets cold. If you do get them fixed, you must follow the rehab to a tee.

apparently I'm not alone with knee problems on this board...

left knee:
tore all three big ligaments in collision at home plate
right knee:
have about no cartiledge left, recently tore MCL..

I have to say the best thing I did was zero impact stuff in the pool.. I did a lot of upper body resistance exercises etc. Plus it gives you a chance to really test your range of movement. It's probably the easiest way to work out.

Honestly...

If you can get into a swimming pool.. by far the best total body work out you can get and very low stress on the knees... start with some low ydg and some kicking.. larger muscles use large amts of energy ... get my point.. oh yea you ant to burn fat slightly elivate your heartrate... you dont want to be all out of control like you can getr running.. keep it jsut above norm while excersizing and that will yeild the best fat burning.

-orph...

this is all presuming your not completely inept in the H20...
