help with drop springs

hey i was told not to even bother with drop springs that i should just go with coilovers. i really dont like my coilover experience with my hondas, but i dont know about the MS3. some advice would be very appreciated thanks!! PS i was thinking about buy TEIN drop springs that drop you about 1.5-2".
 
as i stated in your exhaust thread, what do you hope to gain out of it? are you trying to build a better handling car, softer ride, just a nice drop? what are you going to do with it? do you want to daily drive it, show it off, race it??
 
ive had the tein s techs. for about 70k miles now. they have great handling and a nice smooth ride. i couldnt tell the difference from stock and still are not bumpy at all.. but i dont know how the ms3 struts are
 
there are really nice springs kits like eibach or cobb that offer nice performance with a conservative drop that wont blow your oem struts. If you wanna get serious or have adjustability or have a car that is really lowered and still has working shocks with travel you need coilovers. The things to consider are cost, goals, install experience...coilovers are not hard but not easy to install and setup. As far as your honda coilover experiences dont take them into account. You can get coilovers like what I got..BC Racing...and they are height/dampening adjustable so you can get them as low or high as you want and then make them stiff or soft like stock if thats what your looking for.
 
springs are a done deal you put them on and thats what you get no softer firmer or higher lower to fine tune them. But with springs like eibach/cobb you dont need camber links for the rear with coilovers you do

hey go fast. im going for a nice drop, thats a daily driver but every once in a while i would like to pull up to somebody and see what i can do you know.
 
If you plan on going to the race track often than coilovers would be a good option.

Not really sure what you mean by pulling up next to someone. If your talking about a straight line than springs aren't going to help you.

if you don't really plan on tracking it, just get some of the aftermarket springs instead of coughing up a small fortune for coil overs. i have heard good things about the cobbs and road magnets
 
I've got the eibach's they are nice, settled to about 1" drop in the rear and a little over in the front. I like the feel and the fact that they are still within alignment specs and I can run the stock struts. I havent gotten to a track yet but I like twisty road driving and they feel real nice.
