After my spring install, I'm noticing a whiring noise of medium pitch from the front end. I've only heard it a half dozen times or so, usually in the middle of a sharp turn taken fairly quick, and usually under acceleration. From the sound I half expected the tire to be rubbing a brake line or some other part. After inspection, all I could find was that I could feel very little of the rubber spring seat at the rear of the passenger side front spring (compared with the drivers side). Other than feeling less rubber material, the spring seemed to be seated properly. I probably need to get back under there and make sure I can't easily wiggle it though. Everything else was in place and nothing was obviously loose.
During the removal of the stock spring on the passenger side the bearing cartridge came apart from the tophat (I got lazy and tried dissassembly without a spring compressor). No significant grease was lost and it went back together quite smoothly. Not sure what potential for problems that may have caused.
Is there anything other then an improperly seated spring that might make that noise?
