i asked that myself, lol but this guy is REALLY insistant on the C240, maybe because hes a honda hater i dunno, but to me brand name means s*** all when your passing cars that are 2x-4x the price on a track

I say civic. the merc has less power, not as revvy, heavier, no lsd, and V6 is definately more thirsty for gas than a lil high revving 4 banger. And i'm guessin its the brand new Civic Si, so all u gotta do is read motortrend's car of the year article about the civics. And i'm pretty sure the Si will have alot more track potential, while still remaining a good commuter. Just wait for all the aftermarket stuff to come out. (evil)

And wouldn't a new car be nicer than a used one? (poke)

Where's the question. If nothing else the SI will not be in the shop anywhere as much as the Mercedes and if something goes wrong it a lot less expensive to repair.

And $25k is expensive. You can find C320s, which are much more exciting and newer for the same price. We took one in for about $19000 and sold it for 24000 after inspection, new brakes, belts and tires. It only had about 22000 mile on it, too. It was an 03

i can't say i like my options, but i'd go with the Si. i'd rather have a new car than a used car that costs the same. points you made that the mercedes loses in my mind:
going to the track
reliable
cheap to maintain
aftermarket support

did you forget he's canadian?

i don't see how you are looking for a car you can take to the track and a c240 is one of your options. go with the Si

i really want a 6spd+LSD for around or under $25K, the speed6 is fun and cool but.. its over $34K CAD

the other option is the solid rear axel Mexico made Sentra... i dunno about that one...
