ok, if you say something she needs something practical and useful...then i wouldnt go with the bath and body works thing...i am sure she has shitloads of it...i do at least, and i rarely use most of it....my friend got me that typical body spray/lotion/shower gel combo in that one cucumber melon smell, which i am just sick of...i went and returned it for the better stuff (they were having an awesome sale, lol) and got the butter kind of lotion, aromatherapy stuff and what not...so id get her that kinda cool stuff, cuz i bet she has a million lotions and unless you know exactly what smell she likes, it just may sit there

practical gifts really are the best...my friend just got me a watch for my bday, cuz she knew i had just broken mine and i was pissed as hell cuz i didnt have a watch...that was awesome cuz i wear it all the time...so try and figure out if there is something like that that she may need...and thats kinda something we cant really help ya with cuz we dont know what she has

You know what she is like and likes. Try to find out what she needs - try to remember if she mentioned anything in the past about needing or wanting something. Could be as easy as a watch, a book, a gift certificate to Starbucks, or tickets to a game, a mix CD, an action figure or doll, an intake for her car ...

If she's a close friend then you should know pretty well what she likes. Yeah, it's cliche, but just knowing and listening to the person will give you the best ideas. This is a friend, so you might not have put as much effort in the listening part when it came to gifts like you would a girlfriend, but you should still know what she might like or need.

And if you haven't started listening, start now, she might be saying stuff today about something she needs. It's all about listening

I'll defer to some of the women on here, but I think the Body Shoppe or the Bath&Body works idea is a good one, BUT get a gift card and let her choose her own things. Dreeza's right, women/girls all have a lot of stuff like that and it's hard to know what she'll like or not. Gift certificate might seem impersonal though...My 2 cents.

go for the dildo or vibrator. the silver bullet is classic. she'll think it's a gag gift but i guarantee she'll use it. she just may not admit to it. just don't let her open the package around anyone else or she'll be too embarassed.

my gf and I hosted an adult toy party at our house.. you'll be surprised. most girls use them but just won't admit it. the silver bullet goes a long way because it's so cheap ($10?) and you can also use it inside of many other toys later.

maybe you can follow it up with a nice gift set from bath & body works and/or some candles..

yeah, unless you yourself are really into comics, and you are really good at them and its like a hobby, or if she is really into them....then it could be a good idea for sure

otherwise, its just kinda random, especially if she doesnt really like comics and knows u arent artistic (if thats the case)

theres gotta be something she needs...oh and since u said you were thinking of cosmetics...careful with that...does she wear makeup regularly? if not...that would be kinda insulting possibly....and many girls are very picky about brands and colors...or are just very partial to one certain thing...i personally have like 30 diff mascaras, but my sister has just one kind, and refuses to use anything else...

once again, its tough to make that call cuz we dont really know how she is!
