Help..Noisy Tranny? What next?

Ok ill try and be brief so you dont lose interest.

1. Jacked up the car on Saturday to change Oil and Tranny Fluid.

2. Noticed that the inner boot, drivers side, on the axle had spewed grease all over the underside of the suspension in a radial pattern...no biggy, must be a tear in the boot.

3. Ordered a new boot from Mazda, picked it up yesterday, dropped the car off at my cousins so he could take care of it while i was at work.

4. He removed the axle, brought it to an axle shop and had them replace the boot, simple stuff.

5. Came back to the house, re-installed the axle and changed the oil and tranny fluid while the car was in the air. In went 6qts mobile 1 and 3qts Redline MT-90 GL-4 from SU.

6. Picked up my car last night after work, all is well, came home and went to bed.

7. Wake up this morning and back outta the garage and while turning i notice a "wuh wuh wuh" rotation noise from the front suspension/tranny...ONLY when turning about 90 degrees in either direction.

8. By time i get to work the car is hot and the noise is gone. Shoot back up to my cousins at lunch, car is cold...makes the noise. By time i get there, car is hot...no noise.

9. He jacks it up, checks the 3 bolts he pulled yesterday, all are tight and can not resimulate the noise. Fucki it...fluke.

10. On the way back down, car is hot...no noise...BUT...rolling off in second from a slow down in traffic i hear a clunk....try in first...nothing....again in second...same noise.

11. Six rolls around time to go....mind u...no noise after lunch...now at 6...car is cold...noise again. By time i get home..car is hot...no noise.

12. WTF?? My shifts arent as smooth as everyone says after the MT-90...does my car not like it? Is this why its quiet after its warm? Im stumped and confused.

13. At this point i want to take it to the dealer if in case it IS the tranny...but im scared.

14. I have bc coilovers, hotchkis sways, ms rear camber kit, ms cai, cs mm inserts and twm bushings...i dont want to get harassed over warranty...im lost, the noise doesnt make sense...alot of you use the MT-90...any suggestions or advice welcome.

put the original type fluid back in and take it to the dealer . Your other mods don't sound like something they can blame the transmission on . I got my trans replaced at 15000 ! miles that sucked

do you really think i need to change the fluid back? We all change our own oil, why cant we change our tranny fluid too? Im just worried about them saying i abuse the car since i have it slightly modded...when the truth is i baby my car.

How would they know about the oil anyway, is MT-90 a different color?

nope! Same color lol...good point. Anyone think they'll be able to tell its not madza fluid?

they wouldnt notice it if its the same color fluid. think of all the stuff they dont notice like putting 5w-20 in a guys car instead of 5w-30 (I just read). if they make stupid mistakes like that I wouldnt worry. plus the tranny oil is a 75w-90 GL-4 so its all to spec no problems.

I don't know how smart these guys are but they might notice if it so much as smells different but maybe not Im sure they will try to just rebuild it like they tryed to do with mine . they ultimately replaced the whole thing then screwed up my shifter cables and had to replace those too.. They will cover it But I suggest you ask for a new tranny and ask them to replace the clutch while there in there . Mazda NA told me its up to the dealer wether or not they replace the whole thing but its a new car and Im sure your paying damn near 500 a month like me . I don't want some dude tinkering around in my transmission I want a new one . Expect a long excruciating wait .
