Help needed with grill !!

so I blacked out all my emblems and I've seen a picture of a red hatchback with the black front emblem but it also has the grill black - it looks awesome .. so I was wonderig how hard it would be to black out my grill/ if I could do it myself ??? I've looked under the hood and seen that it's jus a couple screws/ bolts holding it in but i'm wondering if the normal sand paper/ exterior spray paint would work?? need help - thanks !

you could probably do it if you do the prep work right
id sand the painted portion of of the grill with say 220 grit paper, prime, sand, prime again, paint with the color you want, and then put a few clear coats on it

if you already painted your emblems then you wouldnt need to repaint that
