HELP!!! My MP3 got hit

My Dad’s CR-V hit my MP3 today while he is backing out. My hood is screwed, and some damage to my bumper and right light as well. Anyone knows how much is the factory hood. Should I replace with a new factory hood + paint job, or should I get the Carbon Fiber hood instead? Which way is cheaper or worth? And will I be able to get the original MP3 bumper, since our car is limited, and our bumper is not exactly the same as the protege5.

I don't know the prices but I'm sure you can get MP3 body parts. They are limited but not that limited. Mazda would not sell a car and not make replacement parts for it. How much sense would that make? I hate to hear about that. I really hate when cars get damaged. I feel for you. Good luck with everything. Just take it to a body shop. I'm sure they know how to fix it.

why not just get a carbon fiber hood. They are really hot. Btter what you had before might as well upgrade now.

I believe the CB hood will cost more than 500USD + Shipping + Tax. That's seem to expensive to me.

I don't think carbon fiber hoods are cheap. I also know that with my insurance company, they won't pay for anything aftermarket unless it was on my car before. I wanted to put on a body kit when my car got hit but the only thing they would replace was the clear bumper lights because those were there before the accident. The prices of factory parts are MUCH higher than aftermarket parts for the most part but most insurance companies don't care. They don't want to put up with the hassles of aftermarket parts. I don't know what your company's policy is but you should find out. Chances are that you could get the carbon fiber hood for the same price as stock but if insurance is paying, they might not like it. You will have to talk to them. Once again, I am sorry to hear about this.

im pretty sure our front bumper is exactly the same as the p5's aside from the marker lights...not that it would make a difference...oem parts cost an arm and a leg

It doesn't matter what insurance policy my company has. Since my MP3 got Hit by my Dad, we won't claim the insurance anyway. So if the factory hood + paint job is costing the same or only a little less than the CB hood. I will get the CB hood instead.

If I am putting the Protege5 bumper to my car, I will have 2 side-marker.

I also live in Canada. When I had my accident I wanted to get the MP3 bumper, rebar and splash gaurds for my car. Insurance never had a problem with it. I'd just pay the difference. The problem was there was NO availablity on the parts. This was only this month too. They say that it could be on backorder for months.

hey, sorry to hear about the s*** to your car! i might be able to help you a bit:
the hood is 392US$, i know this because i got a new hood like 1 week ago (when i hit the deer), therefore i you pay it yourself, and you like it (i don't) get the CF hood
the bumper (when it's wrecked) will be another 450$, both of these prices do NOT include paint....sorry, but now you knwo what the deal is!

I feel for you man. Not having a car really sucks. When my car was wrecked I was a mess. I had to bum rides and had nothing to do. At least your car will be back soon. It took a month for my car.

I feel ya on this one. June 30 I wrecked my Focus in a big rainstorm. It was about 2 weeks before I was rollin again (July 10). Having rental and driving a car that is not yours, not to metion bumming rides really wears not just on oneself, but others as well! The MP3 was an unexpected answer to my problems! Sad thing is that I had no idea what an MP3 was until this happened to me!

see my car was supposed to be fixed in 2 weeks but they kept pushing it back. It was rediculous. I got it back after a month and 3 days. I was pissed. If you are in houston, DON'T GO TO SULLIVAN'S!!!! They screwed up my paint and they take FOREVER!

i went to Callaways Collision (I59/1960) and i think they did the job pretty good, had to go back 2 more times though because they messed up the LED for the Alalrm.... but yeah, other than that i was satisfied! i walked out paying only $30 of my $500 deductible
