Help me with my Gauge selection

I'm looking at the prosport premium gauges.. but other then a boost gauge I'm not sure what I want to get.

Inititally I was thinking that I would like to have two or three gauges (mounting solutions will be discussed once I have gauges in hand).

So... Boost + what others? A/F? Oil Pressure? Water Temp? Voltage? Sexyness?

I'm not planning on doing HEAVY modifications to the car (say, maybe moving up to 280Whp), so what do you guys feel would be the most important things to monitor?

i would do oil pressure and oil temp - then you'll know when you can get hard on it. (ie. after the oil is up to operating temp)

I'm in the same situation. I know I want the boost gauge - that's easy. I've read a lot of different opinions on the forums and it seems like the top choices (besides boost) are wideband O2, oil pressure, and voltage.
Right now, I'm thinking that I'll get boost, oil temp, and wideband O2. I'm not sure if I'll get Prosport gauges or GReddy gauges for the boost and oil temp. The wideband O2 isn't made by a lot of companies and they're all pretty expensive so I don't know if it's worth it.

Does anybody want to give a pros/cons breakdown of a bunch of different types of gauges? For instance, I might get an oil temp gauge but it sounds like the best way to install it is to replace the filter housing so there's room for the sensor and I'm not sure I want to do that.

my opinion, wideband is useless unless you planon going stand alone and doing some tuning. voltage too, unless you'll be running a LOT of powered accessories. (ie. large stereo)

I was planning on getting a CAI and the XEDE when the pnp version comes out. I'll be tuning it with different maps so the wideband will probably be necessary unless I can get away with using an a/f gauge but I don't think those are as accurate.

I plan on getting Boost, Wideband, EGT, and probably oil pressure when I upgrade the turbo. I plan to push the car hard and I want to be able to pick up on any problems early. Boost gauge is a given, Wideband is good to be able to monitor the A/F ratio, especially if you plan on modding moderate to high. EGT so you can use as an indicator if your running higher temps than what is normal, possible detonation problems. Oil pressure so if you see it drop, you have a chance of saving the engine and turbo. Also good to keep a cheat sheet of normal readings of the gauges handy. That way you can spot a potential problem at it's earliest.

Is there a kit available for fuel pressure? I know on Ford's, its a pain in the ass getting the right fittings to tap off the schrader valve to the gauge. Which gauge company where you thinking about going with? ApExi, Autometer, someone else?

Oil pressure is good as long as you can get a full sweep electric, otherwise, mechanical is the way to go.

I wouldn't expect any standard gauge to do anything for a Speed3 as far as fuel pressure goes... With Direct Injection, I believe you need to pressurize the fuel to at least 8-10 BAR to get it into the combustion Chamber.

How many psi is a bar? 10 or 12?

The reason im curious about fuel pressure is, when you start adding mods, you will notice if the fuel pressure drops. Im not exactly sure what size injectors the MS3 comes with stock, but i would assume around 375 fwhp, we may have to either upgrade our fuel pumps or replace injectors. I wouldnt want to find out the hard way.

You have got to be kidding me! Your the guy tearing me a new a$$ in the "unhappy with hks sound" thread and you don't know this stuff. How many psi are in 1 bar? Egt and wideband o2, They are redundant of each other you really don't need both. Fuel pressure gauge on direct injection. 375whp on the injectors where did that number come from? You tell me to go back to school but, I'm glad to see you don't know jack while accusing others of stuff.
