hi, guys.
I need to change tires really soon and I want some feedback on what you think will be the best tire to get. That includes grip and tire wear. If you are commenting, please let it be so from personal experience.
my options are:
Bridgestone potenza REO50A

Michelin Pilot Sport

Yokohama Advan Sport

i have a set of goodyear eagle gt's on mine i like them so far way better then the stock tires from a ride comfort perspective

Wrap your cr kai's in kdw2 and call it the day, i like the look of the aggresiveness of the tire pattern.

Yokos depending on how aggressive you drive will last you very little. There tread is AMAZING for grippynes but usually last small amount of time. I used Yoko ES100s great tire but poor life. I am on Hankooks now and they seem to have good life but not the best grip. I am going to try Kumhos again their old Supra 712 was AMAZING in both the categories you stated. They were replaced with these...

The Yokohama's and Bridestones are gonna wear out quick (15-20K miles).

Your best bet is to go with Michelin Pilot Sports, especially since ur not

really gonna have any traction issues. Havent had anyone complain about

the pilot sports working at Discount Tire for 7 years.

I hate shopping for tires. Tire wear is hard to shop for because it is mostly based on your driving style, how you maintain your tires and suspensions settings.

I had a set of the Yoks and I really liked them. I don't have them any more cause of the cost. I drove them on a Hwy 16 in Livingston Parish which is a winding road. They have great handling in wet and dry. The wear was mild but I thought pretty good for the traction I got. If it wasn't for the money I would have bought them again.

thanks a lot for the reply guys!
from what everyone stated so far I guess I'll have to choose between the michelin and the yokohama.

I have had all those tires and some, but the best bang for the buck i could find was the Kumho Ecsta "MX" series, make sure MX, high speed rating, they stick like tape and the only tire that pulled better times for my experience in scca solo were potenza RE-01's, stay away from the 050's they wear fast and after about 5k miles they are slippery. i recommmend you go on tire rack and read the reviews. and better yet they have static grip and wear tests on tirerack.com

I'd look at not the RE050As, but the RE050A Pole Positions. They're about the same price, but seem to get better reviews. I've talked to several guys who've run the BFGs and they've actually said that the tire will start delaminating after a few hard runs, due to the tread pattern.

Other than that, Yokos have always been good too. Those Advans look pretty impressive as well.

thanks guys for all your help, I just ordered the michelin pilot sport, they arrive on thrusday. bought them from tirerack. total price included shipping $951

Wow, that is pricey, they look good though. Did you ever consider a Falken? RT615 would of cost you around 650, though maybe not enough wet handling for you. But GL with that purchase, let us know what you think of them.

no problem. stay tuned for a full review once I get the tires installed and a follow up when I put some miles on them!

time for update, I just got my tires installed and they feel great. they grip really good and they have absolutely no road noise. I'll post pictures tomorrow.
