HELP: installing new head unit, amp, and sub but keeping bose speakers

Hi fellow speed6 drivers, I have been doing research for months planning out how to upgrade my head unit and sound system but cannot find much help. I purchased a 12" kicker sub/amp package, a double din radio, the dash kit and wire harness, steering wheel control interface, antenna adapter, but I am not sure how to go about installing it all. I have found threads on upgrading just the head unit or just the amp but not all at once. If anyone has a different thread or can help or has any alternate suggestions please let me know. I have read in some places that aftermarket head units and amps will not work with bose speakers and have read some places that you just need a certain adapter. Do you need a special adapter or need to do something specific? Been trying to get it put in for a while but do not want to end up burning up my new head unit or blowing out my speakers. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated, Thanks!
