Ok... so i recently got a mechanical boost gauge, and I am going to install it tomorrow. I dont want to use the nylon hose, so what is the fitting i need to buy to attach some vacuum tubing to the back of the gauge?

thanks!

3/16 or 5/32. But don't believe everything you read about the nylon hose. Mine has been on from day one and the gauge is accurate and the needle is smooth and steady.

Cool,

I just installed it... install went fine.

Now, I have never had a boost gauge before, so I dont know how they should act when driving. What I have noticed, however, is when i floor it, and the boost goes up to 6 ish, the needle vibrates REALLY fast and then levels out in higher RPMS. is this normal?

It's perfectly normal. The flutter is due to the wastegate opening partially and it settles one the wastegate is completely open. 6 psi sounds just about right.

Boost Guage

I had also thought about not using the nylon hose but, if the install is done right it will work just as good if not better than anything else.

Boost

Hey, one more thing, add the boost controller and boost it to 10psi, you'll notice a nice difference.

Hose is hose. As long as it won't collapse on itself under vacuum it'll do just fine. I just not to use the nylon because I don't like how it looks.

As far as turning up the boost. Do NOT do this unless you have the supporting modifications to safely run 10 psi. These cars have blown motors at stock boost levels when driven incorrectly. Just imagine what would happen at 10 psi...

yeah, workin on the mods.got exhaust, smic, will have ssafc soon, so will do it after thats installed. seem good?
