help! how to blow motor? warranty

Wow Foolish, way to throw a damper on a fun thread. Why do I care what he does to the engine? ;)
I wanted to hear how he blew a rod through the block or turned the engine into a molten lump of aluminum...

He he he. Sounds like since they clearly paid for the other repairs, and your car is working now, they don't owe you anything. You can't get a warranty to repair or replace something that is not yet broken.

"Hey, it seems like my engine is getting old, I'm sure something's going to break soon, it's not what it used to be... can I have a new one?"... "No."

Really, I was just trying to find out WTF he was thinking entitles him to a new motor, and just maybe (if he listened to me) save the dude a lot of money and trouble. Anyway, it's not my car, so like you say, what do I care if he blows it up?
 
the car burns 1L of oil every 300km or so from a leaky head. in my contract it says that ALL internal parts of the engine are covered. its backfiring and wont stay running unless i keep it revved and ride the clutch. the car is not driveable. I phoned the finance manager from the dealership i bought it at and he is going to get the warranty rep to take care of it for me.
 
I bet they'll love the fact you removed VTCS and have other mods.

How is the coolant? Is the oil leaking out onto the ground or is it burning up?
IS the check engine light on? Are you throwing codes? Sounds like maybe a vacuum leak and an oil leak. Could be the piston rings and oil blowby.
 
coolant is clean and is not disappearing. oil is leaking out of cylinder head into cylinders and is being burned.no external leaks. no check engine light. no codes. no vacuum leak. 175psi across all cylinders. no blow by.

they didnt say anything about my short shifter or shifter bushings when my tranny was rebuilt. the fineprint on my warranty only says aftermarket parts are not covered. doesnt say anything about voiding the warranty. if they say anything about the butterflies, it had loose screws and was removed to prevent damage to my engine
 
So you basically need a headgasket and you are all set then.
The rings should be good, bearings should be fine, cooling is fine. Sounds like an oil passage leaking into the cylinder at a bad headgasket.

I don't know why you don't just pull the head and resurface it, then get a new gasket set and you are probably good to go.

Or, it could be the valve guides are shot but that's a long shot.

Look for a new head.
 
we'll see wut the rep says, but im sure the head gasket is fine. all of the other mechanics i took it to say valve stem seals, but when i took it to the mazda dealer to have the work done, they said piston rings, even though i have 175psi on all cylinders. they also told me that my flywheel is not warped and the clutch chatter is from a worn out clutch. BS
 
The clutch chatter could be from a worn out clutch.

And the oil control rings are seperate from the compression rings. So it could be those rings are worn out. Though it wouldn't make sense as to why. Unless the car has a ton of miles on it or was beaten on.

Why stop at the motor? Just drive it into a pond and report it stolen, then wait for a nice insurance check. Just take the fraud up one step (rockon) ha ha, j/j
 
why dont YOU drive your car into a pond and stay there? i never said i wanted to get rid of my car, i just want the damn thing fixed! and its not fraud if it really is broken, but they are not honoring their warranty which i paid them for. so stfu or gtfo

i showed the dealer the TSB about the flywheels warping and causing clutch chatter. they said because its not under mazda's warranty anymore that they would not fix it. the flywheel is covered on my extended warranty but they said that i would have to pay them to take it apart to see, so i told them to get bent. on the work order however, it says the clutch is worn out and they charged the warranty company for reassembly but didnt fix anything... kinda shady if u ask me

wouldnt the oil control rings and the compression rings have equal wear? so if there was blow-by or oil getting past, it would affect the compression too. you are right, it doesnt make sense. the car has 125,000km on it, serviced regularly, i shift usually at 4500rpm at the most, and never dump the clutch. the clutch has never slipped so thats why i said BS to it being worn out. i had a 91 323 with 220,000km on it and the clutch was just starting to slip then
 
They don't have to do anything about TSBs, those just tell them what it could possibly be as a diagnostic help. They are not obligated to replace anything really. They'll say it is just a worn out clutch friction disk which is an expendible item like the brake pads.

It's got to come down to putting legal pressure on the warranty company. Find a different dealer or someone who will charge the whole thing to the warranty company who can then dispute it and lose.

i just want my damn car fixed. waiting to hear from the warranty rep. if he doesnt do anything about it i'll go after the dealership that sold it to me. the only problem with that is its 900km away
 
1. Remove all aftermarket parts then take your car out to a vacant lot and torch it.
2. Report it stolen the next day
3. Profit!
 
nooooo way i love my car, i just cant afford to pay for the shop's screw up on my tranny and im just pissed that the warranty company is ******* me around. i just want it fixed I DONT WANT TO GET RID OF THE CAR
