hey guys
I have problem with my driver's side of headlight.
somehow inside of headlight is covered with mists.
and my headlight socket is burned out, not the actual bulb.
I asked pepboys if they have them, but they told me I have to go to dealer.
help me out, how do I clean the inside of my headlight?
I coudn't figure it out.
protege experts out there~ help me

I would have this looked at by the dealer. The same problem happened on the Civic I used to drive. The whole headlight unit was replaced (covered by warranty) because of poor sealing around the unit.

Yeah, dealer should replace it under warranty.

regardless of mileage? cause I have 35000miles right now, and if warranty is applicable then should I change everything to stock factory bulbs?

Well not if your warranty is not longer good then abviously they won't replace anything under warranty. If it was applicable it would be a good idea to change everything back to stock so they don't have anything to b**** about.

Hey, Thank for the info.
I still have warranty+extended. but my question is how the headlight is covered with warranty? and what's the limit of mileage?

Not sure with the extended warranty but with the regular warranty EVERYTHING is covered, if it is a manufacturing default (ie headlights not sealing properly). There have been members here have their floormats replaced under warranty. That's what bumper to bumper means, your front bumper, your rear bumper, and everything in between. But the extended warranty might just be powertrain, not sure of the specifics on that.

Actually, you are in luck. I just made an apointment at the dealership for the exact same prob. They told me it's covered and he told me that the garanty is 3years, or 80 000Km. Dunno how many miles that is, but I'm 100% sure you fall into the covered section... :)

wow thank you~
I'm in luck!! I should change my noyka bulbs to factory one and make appointment with dealer~
Just curious, do i really need to take my car to where I bought it?
cause my dealer, they are full of BS!!!
anyway thanks again.

hmm...one more question, what if they ask me if i used those high wattage bulbs? I will say no anyway but...
I think dealer will probably ask me how my socket got burned out.
you know, some dealers are really picky about these damn things.
damn..I'm a newbie.

Play stupid. They can't prove anything if you put the stock bulb back in. I split a tire once by hitting an open man hole, an claimed it on warranty. They asked me what the hell happened, and all I said was...... I dunno.......

They knew I was lying, but what can they do... Send it to a forensics lab??

Next week of MSI (Mazda Scene Investigators)
