awesome. then the pictures should explain it pretty well. let us know how it goes.

if the core is taller than 6" then your going to need to cut or replace your bumper beam. cause it wont fit otheriwise

then the tubo to ic pipe goes through the hole, over the top of the ic to its left side then the other side goes to the tb pipe.

mines 6" tall and it scrapes the bottom inside of the msp bumper. you might have more room just make sure it doesnt hang below the bumper if u dont cut the beam cause that would look ghetto.

....Your motor looks badass..

Thanks, you should see it now with a polished injen intake, polished heatshield and semi-poished valve cover (clean, but not mirror finish) Bling Bling (thumb)

And you can tell from the first pic of Philly's car that he cut the beam. Otherwise you'd see the bottom inch or so above the intercooler core. His is cut like Adams (Pic I first linked) with the tabs off the side of your core going on top of the bumper support and bolting down into it.

Just watch out for front end collisions now, no support = intercooler/radiator/turbo etc take the brunt of any frontal impact.

That does look like a bumper support beam, but maybe aftermarket. On my MSP (and on the picture I linked) it's black metal, but in the same location as your white plastic one.
That is just a foam cover that goes over the support beam. I think it is just meant to fill the little gap between the beam and bumper to help prevent damage in a crash.

About the FMIC. You are going to have to cut the beam. There is no way that intercooler is going to fit without lots of trimming, so much cutting to the point where you may as well just remove the beam all-together.

Keep us updated though, and don't hesitate to ask about anything you run into.

yeah, i went to see if there was any metal behind that plastic thing yesterday..and there isnt..so i guess i have to cut THAT and fit the intercooler to that? let me know what you guys think..eaarrgg..i am beginning to hate this car.

Don't the LXs have a different support beam than the MSP/P5?
i would assume so..since mine is like hard ass plastic, and there is NO hint of metal anywhere around it

i see. what u might have to do is mount it to the frame on the bottom (like where the rad sits or get a msp/p5 bumper. thats my best guess.

yeah like buy the msp/p5 support beam, then hack the s*** out of that.lol.do you know how much one of those goes for?

i have no clue. go to a junkyard itll be cheaper. or put a WTB in the for sale section cause anyone with a perin fmic had to take thiers off. just an idea.

good call.

If you are going to hack it up to make the intercooler core fit, why waste the money on a MSP one?

Just cut a section out of your current plastic one. YOu may not have to cut it in half, just cut out the front and side sections, leave the back intack for support.

Make the hole big enough that the core fits in there, but small enough that the tabs on either end of your core stick out over the plastic support beam. Then drill two holes in the top of the support beam under you core tabs and bolt them in place there.
