I have a 2007 Mazdaspeed6 with 6700 miles. the rear left is almost bald & the right rear is not much better. It's AWD and I don't squeal the tires etc...The dealer says they examined the car (I don't know how well in ten mins). ANYhow... I'm stumped as to what is causing this excessive wear. Could it be something wrong with the traction control????? HELP(cheers2)

if your car is still less than a year old, then you can get an alignment done under warranty, which appears to be the issue right now

you can't just "look at the car" for 10 minutes to determine if there's something wrong or not!!!

go to another dealer!

Thanks to all that replied... I took it to Conrads.. alignment not an issue. lr tire is 3/32 and bald in middle all the wayaround. rr is 6/32.. front are both 9/32. tires never rotated. mazda says ratio for awd is 80% front & 20% rear. this being case I can't figure out why rear are showing excessive wear.

it could just be defective tires from a bad batch. Did you purchase the tire addon they always try to sell? If so, accidentally run over a few nails on the way to work tomororw :)

Completely unrelated vehicle, but my 91 camaro did this same thing. it ended up being a bad wheel bearing.

Thanks again for replies, tire pressure was at 37-38 psi. I checked and double checked when I first noticed problem. Bearing could be something to think about. I have another appt wi Mazda next week after compalining to area manager...................thanks and if any one can come up with any more ideas I can throw at them in the meantime I'd be grateful.
