Help deciding which intake is better.

I am planning on replacing my stock air intake with aftermarket. I have read many reviews on here but I cant find the information that I am looking for. Does anyone have the PG SRI and TIP combo on their MS6. It caught my attention because of the price (200) but I want to know if its just as good as the Cobb SRI and TIP combo. I dont want to spend all the extra money if its not worth it. I also want to state that I plan on staying on the stock turbo and intercooler for a while. thanks

I have it on my car. Seems to be worth the money as I did pick up a power/mileage increase. Not to mention the spool sound and bypass valve sound is MUCH louder now...

the sound of the pg is really all that changes between the two.
the cobb is more of an insulating material and is therefore quieter.

i dont think anyone has done a power comparison but price vs. hp im sure the pg is as good as it gets.

i have the pg tip+sri and the sound is just amazing. like 0-5psi during a slow acceleration to highway speeds was loud enough for my friend to hear the turbo spooling inside his car over his music.

i wouldent buy any intake that wasent cobb or cpe. the MAF housing has to be EXACTLY the same as stock or you will need to buy an AP and recalibrate your MAF

Does anyone know if the PG doesn't keep the same MAF size? That worries me...

PG is not stock MAF size..
i agree with superskater.. cobb, cpe, or stock. all others are fail.

I think that if you're looking for the best pure performance, go with the Cobb SRI and CPE TIP. The CPE stuff is top notch, but the Cobb MAF housing is the "best" design I've seen. Now, if you want the COOLEST SOUNDing setup, the MSCAI with OEM TIP and a TXS BPV will sound off in a big way. Lots of air sucking sounds through the long CAI tube and plastic OEM TIP and the TXS BPV holds the manifold pressure long enough to get a big WHOOSH sound as it releases the pressure when the piston lifts. YMMV....

i have to agree with forzda with this also.if your going with a sri i would do exactly the set up he suggested or full cobb sri and tip

i own the aem cai(which is the same as the mazdaspeed cai) with an htp aluminum turbo inlet pipe and turboxs hybrid blow off valve and the car sounds amazing. sounds like a jet engine taking off..the thing is the aluminum piping is going to be much louder vs the rubber sri and tip's...in my opinion cheaper isnt always the best solution for these cars. first thing i did to my car when i got it was the bov and intake..that alone makes the turbo sound of the car. the aluminum turbo inlet pipe just increase the sucking sound dramatically since i did this add on 6 months after the cai and bov. good luck to whatever you choose.
