"Yes I know the 2JZ-GTE is a Supra engine. I was telling MoJoeTCM Clint used a 2JZ from a US Supra, rather than a "jdm supra engine." -- a weaker, less powerful 2JZ than the one we have here (smaller ceramic turbos).
$2,000 for a 2JZ transplant? You're gonna need to research it a little more. There is a lot of more parts and custom fabrication you'll need. For the tranny alone you'll need a custom driveshaft, need to trim the tranny tunnel and shifter surrounding. You'll also need the Supra rear differential. The ECU is the worst part, either take a week to make a custom harness, or do the smart thing and get an aftermarket standalone. All the small things add up, fuel pump, fuel lines, radiator, exhaust..."
Thanks, I've been in touch with an old friend in Miami who has built quite a few and has Given me all the gruesome details of the swap. Like I said I got the front clip with ECU, harness and all. I know the harness does not plug in to the SC300 dash cluster with out modification & also know about the tunnel, drive shaft & rear diff mod. None of the projects that I have taken on in the past have been easy. I built the first only 323GT turbo wagon in the US and had to completely gut two cars to build it. The point is thanks again for the insight and I am aware of what will need to be done to make it a reality.
P.S. Nice to see that your still around funnylittlman, thanks for the kind words brother!
