I'm new to the Mazda2 after the tragic loss of a 2nd Gen Honda Fit to an errant pickup truck driver.
The Fit had a bit of work in chassis parts and was in my eyes perfected.

The Mazda with some minor work is just as good handling if not better...but it was mainly purchased because the price of the Fit at the time was astronomical...and I was so heartbroken over the loss of the Fit that I didn't want to put that kinda work into another car.

It's had a few problems due to storage/maintenance issues and existing damage...but it is proving to be a trustworthy car that is easy to work on.
The Fit was a really fun car to drive to the point that it encouraged spirited driving. For some reason everyone wanted to race the damn thing, lol. The Mazda is pretty fun, but feels more sensible to me and I tend to drive it in a more sensible manner...and thankfully no one races this thing unnecessarily.
