Hellish mod day...

Hey, sorry about struggle with dp. I had a warpage in the flange flatness. If you know what I mean. Before i installed I measured how far the turbo side was out. I was concerned it would not draw after tightening down and would leak, if holes would even line up. they responded nice enough but I opened the holes up a 1/16" on centers and it was still difficult to put on. Also one of the 'studs' came out with nut attached. I hope thats what you are speaking of, put it back same way it came out. no leaks and flows like crazy. I believe the flange pulls from the heat when it is welded. They sure should fix these issues. I guess I was lucky with O2 removal. Good luck

**UPDATE**

After a run to Sears for grinding bits...the DP is on!!!...however...

Now we are fight the PG mani...so back to the forums to go through the 1 billion thread pages of stuff on that one...

Will i be able to drive safely without the 2nd o2 sensor?

my o2 sensor tried to do the same thing. to be honest, if ur friends knew what they were doing they shoulda known this is a common problem on a lot of cars. those sensors that go in deeper tend to absorb a ton more heat and want to melt onto the pipe, i know i can ask half my mechanic friends and theyll say the same. we just worked mine out slow going back n fourth, or u can do the heating method as described before in this thread. im not tryin to be an ahole but maybe u should just take it somewhere. sure u have experience building and making other things but it seems to be ur havin a lot of problems with this. good luck with the rest.

Thanks for the critisim, but it got figured out...and yes they (my mechanic friends) told me it would be a b**** and that i would have to work at it.... That is why we were spraying PB blaster on all of the bolts and the 2 sensors all day long. We didnt even start taking things apart until 3 and i started spraying the PB blaster at 10 before they got to my apartment...

Now, i dont know what mechanic secrets that i am missing, but honestly, i dont know that anyone else could have gotten it out without at least some damage. I'm telling you, that thing was fused to the bung... unfortunetly my friends camera, the one that we used all day, corrupted all the files on the camera or vista just sucks and will not transfer then properly...

After all of that on Saturday i started reading stuff online and it seems that this happens all the time...like you said...and it was as big of a deal as i originally thought....

Ultamitely, we got everything in and i am waiting on the $140 o2 sensor to get here form PG (hopefully by Wednesday).

Thanks again for all of the feedback...including the nay sayers!(drinks)
