Height with Ground Control

Can someone please raise there Ground Controls all the way up and measue from the ground to the bottom of the car body below the rear door. Im needing this because I have a sytem and Im worried that it weighs too much. So again I think that once Coilovers go on it lowers the car from factory correct? Thanks guys and girls. If possible would be curious about the front also. Or just measure the distance between tire and wheel well. Thanks!:D

With the new GC's they will go from 0-2.5" drop meaning you should always be able to lift the vehicle up to stock. That's only with the current GC's available.

Let me know if you're interested. We offer club pricing.

I dunno, I raised mine all the way up to fit the 19's on there, but the back still rubs every now and then when I have people in the back. So I'm not sure about the whole "stock height when they're all the way up" thing. But then again it may just be because I got 19's on there. :D

Hell no, definitely can't fit the 19's on there on the lowest setting! LOL :p I have those things turned up pretty high, all the way up in the back actually.

all the way up in the rear?..wow! with your stock 16's the tires are already tucked! GC's really are low!. i wonder how low it would be with it set lower?
What setting do you have on for the fronts?
Btw, how many settings are there?

The pics you see on my site with the stock wheels on there are with the GC's pretty much all the way down. I had to raise them up pretty high to fit the 19's on there.

It's not a matter of how many settings, the coil overs have threads on them (like a screw) and you just turn the nut so that it goes up or down for desired ride height.

so i guess you really don't know what setting it is at?
bascially you tell others that you have it on 1/4 turn from the lowest setting? or a full turn thread?...hard to explain to people, huh?
Are these GC's the real guinuine coilovers?
if not, did you have to replace the stock shocks as well?
How does it ride with 19's on?

No, Ground Control's aren't real coil overs... I believe MazdaSpeed makes a street version of their coil over set (complete with new struts and what not) last I checked they go for about $1500, but it's the real deal.

I guess it would be hard to describe to someone where I had my coil overs set to, but to be honest, you're the first to ask lol. :)
I haven't replaced the stock shocks yet, but I probably will soon. It actually rides well right now, so... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :D

hey, if you have a URL or any information on the Mazdaspeed coilovers please posted it up! I'd like to know more about it.

Would you happen to know what other aftermarket 'real-deal' coilovers would fit Mp3's or the coming MS-P?

thanks;)

Well I got the Coilovers on lastnight. It went better than what I thought, I left the height to where I could put two fingers inbetween the fender well and the the top of the tire. I know that the springs will settle as I drive it more. So by Thursday, when I get my allignment, I will adjust it to where it is almost dropped. The Ride is better than what I expected, so I am happy with this. Ill post pics when It is not raining.

Does it handle better than stock?

Does it make any funny noises?

The only funny noises that I have heard is the strut bar. other than that its fine. Ihavent driven it yet really except from the garage to home. Today I will know alot more about it. Also I am getting it alligned thursday and they are going to look at my strut bar. Did anyone ever get theres taken car of? It does feel a lot better in the turns for some reason, but that is just me.

Now that you mention it, It does make not so funny noises, but it is only when I am stitting still and I turn the wheels alot to one Direction or the other Direction. Anyone else have this problem?

I just put some GC's on my MP3 and I hear a clunking sound coming from the back occasionally. It's sounds like the springs are moving around but I checked and they are pretty tight. I havn't heard anything from the front yet. Any thoughts on what could be wrong with the back?

Oh, no...not the infamous clunk...run a search on the word "clunk".

Welcome to the forums.

Thanks man, I will check out my sway bar again. I heard the problem before, but I never had this sound untill after I put on the GC's. I was thinking it had something to do with the coil overs since I just started getting the sound after I put them on. Has anyone had the problem after putting on thier coil overs?

I have ahd problems with when I take off I hear rattling fromt the front coilovers, I dont know what it is.....It is only when I am going straight. Anythoughts guys?
