I asked this question in the Mazda 5 section, where it belongs, and I'm not getting the type of feedback I'm looking for.
My heater is cooling off at idle. Like I said in the other forum, I've been fixing my cars for 25 years and understand basic coolant diagnostics. I'm not observing anything without a more significant investment in time, which I don't actually have, so it will have to go to the dealer while I'm working out of state.
I'm looking for "been there, done that" experience that is related to electrical junk like sensors before I send it to the dealer. Bad feedback loops, etc. Simple stuff that's known by experience with these 2.3L engines specifically.
Parts that I can test is what I'm looking for. If nobody has anything then I will come home to address the issue, but that's a major PITA.
