heat tape

I heard of this product that acts as a quick fix for holes in the exhaust. Its like a red tape that you wrap around the hole of the exhaust and when u drive the heat melts the tape and then the tape permanently is on the exhaust thus sealing it. Does it really work? (shrug)

swing and a miss for the right forum section...however i have never tried the stuff you are talking about before, BUT i am assuming that as long as you arent running insanely high temperatures where you are aplying the tape it should be ok. I mean they market it for a reason right?
