Headlight Project: Projectors(pics inside)...

Would you use the projector for the high or the low, or would/could you use it for both? Excuse the question, but what is the benefit with projector headlights over the lights in our cars (ie P5, etc), other than they look so cool?? (Sorry, not very familiar with proj. headlights.)

i believe that you can have HIDs without blinding the upcoming drivers, lol

You can use a projector for High and low on a P5 but you would need two projectors in each headlight housing. If you have a sedan then u can buy a Bi-Zenon which is a projector with a flap in it that closes and opens causing the light to go up or down...for high and low...

I have a single projector in the headlight for now...I lost my high beam but don't use them so no real loss for me...

The benefit is that u get a crisp clean cut off which does not have hotspots which are spot that r to bright in many locations, also glare. Projectors and Non-Projectors can blind people it is just how you aim them.

Here are some pics in the 1st and 2nd...non projector, the light is all over the place and losing output...

The 3rd pic.... projector, you can see a focus light output very controlled.

I hope that helped if not just let me know or any other questions fire away

I am back from school...and now its time to work on the headlights.

While I was away I went over and over how I can make them perfect, or close to it.

I have reworked my idea and in the pics you can what I have done.

I have made the projector even compared to the hole in the rear of the headlight. I am going to test my new idea on Wed. to see how much I have effected the aim and the Light output but I don't think I did anything but made it even with the housing..

Those headlight are just awesome! PLEASE let us know If you plan on bringing something like this to market.

Where's the How-To? (bow) That thing is truely bad ass. Props to you, did a great job and the time you put into it really shows.

There will be How-to just want to finish the other side and test them out. I will go over everything I did in fine detail. If anybody knows somebody who would want to use my headlights as a source for making them and bring them to the market then just contact me and I would more then happy to work with them.

This headlights take time and a little know how, but I will try to make it a little bit easier so many people can enjoy Projectors.

About the time and money, It is now Like 100+ hours and about 300+ due to a mishap with a headlight but all in the name of fun!!

If you can do that good of a job on those, you might as well start producing them for like $400 a set. Thats AWSOME work!!!

$400? Wouldn't that mean his time was worth only about $1 an hour? Even if he got it down to a science and cut his time in half and cut material in 1/2.... For me, I can work for my own projects real cheap, but that time gets a little more expensive when I work for other people... especially if it's above and beyond your regular 9-5 or 7-5....
