Headlight help!!!!

so i had my passenger projector bulb go out and ordered new ones. when i pulled the headlight and bumper and everything else off to get the headlight out i switched bulbs but no luck, still not working. I opened the black box on the back to see if all was kosher in there but the top corner was rusted on the circuit board, WTF? Long story short, after lots of trial and error i find out my ballast is bad and the little black box is bad, what is that black box? and can it or its insides be replaced?? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

the little box houses the "relay" and unfortunately you can't replace just the little box since the ballast and the "relay" comes as 1 unit...best to just replace the entire system with say.......an aftermarket one since they are super cheap now a days..
