Headlight conversion for 99-00 protege?

Hey people I'm brand new here, just got my car today and was wondering if anyone has done a swap from the 99-00 Protege headlights to the 01+ headlights. To my eyes it looks as though the cars are identical except for the headlights, front quarters and the bumper. I'm guessing that the mounting brackets are completely different but couldn't that be swapped also? Thanks!

sorry, they're not. you'd have to change out bumpers, hoods, and a few others parts if you wanted 01-03 headlights. two options other than doing something custom are sport 20 headlights from corksport ($900) or blacked out headlights. Blacked out headlights you can find at procarparts.com or on ebay for around 150. Some people blacked out their own, there's a how-to thread somewheres. Only thing though is you can't black out the corners, those you'd have to buy ($30). I have the blacked out ones, a definite cleaner look than stock. Also they do sell clear corners that are now around $15 on ebay. I'm waiting for a company to release halo/projector style headlights which I think we will see one day.
